Will LDR be the QB going forward?

"He was laughing and smiling the whole time after getting pulled."

Exactly. I'm sure he's self aware enough to realize that the cameras would be fixated on him the entire time that LDR was on the field. Commentators even remarked that his attitude showed maturity. Obviously nobody is happy to get benched, but displaying the proper attitude goes a long way in the locker room.

Sober the **** up.

Holy shit you’re taking this way too seriously.

It wasn’t even really a knock on Franks. I like the guy. Pretty much pointing out that he seemed pretty okay with getting out of that shit show of an offense.

But apparently I called him a shitty team mate, player, and competitor considering your over the top reaction.

Btw, if this is how you act sober, the day AFTER the game, maybe you should consider having a drink and lighten the hell up.

LOL...gotcha. I probably did overreact, the possibility of LDR behind center the rest of the year has me a little irritable. Maybe I'll have a little taste of bourbon before bed this evening to take the edge off. Thanks for the advice.;)

I literally laughed for 5 minutes and shook my head when we brought him into the game.

I somehow thought we’d heard the last of him.

But nooooo

I did the exact same...but Damn LDR is the Kentucky killer so far. Last year he teased the hell out of us and looked like Joe Montana slinging the ball around. This year he looked composed as Tom Brady on the comeback drives. That damn LDR!

I don't know the future of Mc...but dude has made for some memorable games. UT in 15, LSU in 16, UT last week, UK last night.

It's crazy actually. Our best offensive performance last year was against Kentucky and LDR was the QB. It does appear LDR is a Kentucky killer.

Ummmm...throw to Thompson on 4th down. Delivered the ball exactly where it had to go. Throw to Powell when Powell stepped out was awesome. Perfect TD lob to Swain. He executed that last drive perfectly. That's how.

I would hope that any college QB can make a 5 yard toss to an uncovered receiver.

As for Thompson, it's damn lucky they left him all alone just past the first down marker, because that lame duck LDR threw was, well, pretty lame. The Powell toss was to a back in the flat. Let's not praise a guy for meeting the bare minimum requirements to earn a scholarship at a D-3 level.

Other than those couple tosses, he handed the ball off. We ran the ball pretty well against UK, I was surprised. I hope we can continue to run block like that all year.

No, if you want to give LDR credit for anything it's this:

1. He calmed everybody down and got them rowing in unison again.
2. He was able to get the oline into the correct blocking schemes and protections.

Yep you’re trolling me. Kudos.

Not trolling at all. sadgator honestly believes that LDR was the reason we won the game. He did exactly what he needed to do to get that "W." Franks might have been able to do it too, but there is no doubt that the switch gave us a little confidence boost we did not have prior to Franks going out.

It doesn't mean sadgator thinks LDR is now some stellar world-class QB...sadgator has been as critical of him as anyone (hate that freakin' twitter feed)...but you gotta give credit where it is due. He did a great job moving past the interception and playing with focus the rest of the way. sadgator was really impressed with his poise in the face of all that adversity in Lexington. He could have totally folded and given up, but he (and the rest of the team) did not. Cool to see a young guy deliver like that.

Yep. Sad is a unique individual, much like George Castanza, who speaks of himself in the 3rd person. But I agree with him almost all the time.

Sad is a dic that I almost never agree with. His 3rd persons is also 3 times the dic most of the time. (jus going for some luv-fest balance here)

PS
LDR was 1/11th of the win, divided by his limited time on the field, while Davis and Toney, along with the usual defense were the real hero's.

Using third-person is more douchy than dickish...but it's shtick...

The ceiling on this team is a lot lower with LDR in the game. Franks is by far the more athletic. LDR is a bit calmer and reads the defense better. If only he would not stare down receivers.

Not sure about that since this coaching staff seems to be afraid to let Franks throw it over 5 yards past the line of scrimmage for the most part. We have LDR who is FCS talent level and a young QB who evidently isn't the brightest bulb out there.

QB Feleipe' Franks - 7.6 yds/att, 3 TD's, 1 Int. - PER 141.1 - 3 Gms

QB Luke Del Rio ---- 5.4 yds/att, 1 TD, 1 Int - PER 118.0 - vs UK

QB Malik Zaire ------- 6.2 yds/att - PER 105.3 - vs Mich

QB Kadarius Toney - 50 yds/att, - PER 520.0 - vs UK

Without the YAC's, you'd be 100% correct.

Yes its easy to have a number like that when you have that bomb and guys taking 2 yard passes for 15 to 20 yards.

Mac says Del Rio wasn’t perfect Saturday, but “Luke will take the starting reps in practice” at QB.
“That should answer your quarterback question.” — Mac

If you have a running back that is struggling--you put in another running back. [....]

I hate the argument of QB and confidence. If a QB is struggling, put another one in. Spurrier did it. It worked. To hell with all this confidence needs to be cooddled [nonsense].
It seems that everyone thus far has forgotten the great irony that perhaps the premier example of Spurrier benching struggling QBs was exactly the 1993 game at Kentucky, for which we've seen repeated replays of Chris Doering's touchdown catch with "3 seconds left".

Spurrier played not only Danny Wuerffel but also Eric Kresser[×] Terry Dean during the course of that game, in which Kentucky made 7 interceptions (4 from Dean, 3 from Wuerffel). Spurrier, who described himself as "an Old Testament kinda guy", must have been close to turning into a Pillar of Fire on the sidelines. Both those QBs were first-year players, and I remember Spurrier benching each of them at least once
during that game. Which we famously won 24--20, to make it the 7th in our longest-active winning streak.

Note ×: Sigh. Spurrier's 1993 QBs were "fourth-year junior" Terry Dean (starter at Kentucky), "Redshirt freshman Danny Wuerffel", "Sophomore Antwan Chiles", and "Redshirt freshman Eric Kresser". I'd be a bit more impressed with Mc if he at least gave Trask and/or Allen a series of two in the Vandy game to see what they can do.

I thought it was Terry Dean.
Yes. Arrrgh! I was reminded of that when I did an Internet search after my reply, to determine whether Wuerffel and Kresser were true-or-redshirt freshmen in 1993.

I've been frantically trying to edit my reply into correctness before anybody catches my errors, but my Internet service is blinking off, then back on, fouling ITG Web-page loads.

Spurrier's 1993 QBs were indeed
• "fourth-year junior" Terry Dean,
• "Redshirt freshman Danny Wuerffel",
• "Sophomore Antwan Chiles", and
• "Redshirt freshman Eric Kresser".

Franks is comfortable with throwing long passes or bubble screens. He will throw an occasional crossing route. I cannot tell you the number of times I counted where he eschewed the intermediate route.

This analysis points to a few;

Lol. You know you are going to watch...you know it...you might turn it off in disgust, but you will absolutely watch.

I honestly will not. I'm tired of watching shit football for 3 1/2 quarters only to be told after the fact to be happy about it because nobody suffers wins like UF fans or something like I'm supposed to be happy with watching trash football for 3 hours every Saturday. And now with Del Rio back I already know how this story ends, no need to watch it. I have less than zero interest watching him throw ducks all over the place. Only thing that kept me around through Muschamp's offenses were the exciting defenses at least. Now I get the same type of offense with a defense that can't tackle anybody. No thanks.

I love football way too much to spend my Saturdays pissed off damn near the entire time, I'll just watch well coached and exciting teams instead. Wake me up when some changes get made.

Bourbon...ooz...it helps...trust sadgator...pretty much makes anything Interesting.

What I gathered from Monday’s new press LDR will be taking starting snaps this week and will most likely start. He should have started the first three games in the first place… sorry but true…

sadgator jokes around...but Davis and Toney (and Powell and the other skill players) are showing glimpses of shit we haven't seen around here in long time...as bad as the scores have been...sadgator would not be surprised if those dudes had a game where they just totally broke loose...don't give up yet...

UF has the players but the staff needs to utilize them properly. Quit the sideline to sideline throws, with Franks that’s what they mostly did but when LDR came in they started throwing downfield more…Is this a limitation on the QB or something?

You've got a rsFr QB that's 6-5 239 4.6/40.
He's 70+% accurate and doesn't throw Ints. (HS 17 TD - 0 Int)
The OC said; "He's as good as any 5 Star that we've evaluated this year." The HC watched him at FNL's and offered him a ship.
He was also an early enrollee, but he continues to rot on the bench, never even being given a single series so far in 2 seasons.

You've got another QB that's 6-3 200 4.6/40 Fr.
He has been coached up and prepared since he was 13 years old, by former Gator and D2 NC Eric Kresser. He was the FL 7A State Champ while throwing 27 TD's to just 7 Ints.

To leave those 2 rotting on the bench untested, while playing Zaire-Franks-LDR, and calling yourselves QB Whispers, is so full of BS that it's laughable (or cry-able).

What's the worst that could happen if you at least gave them a shot at the job? That they might turn out to suck as bad as your 1st 3 choices have??? At least that would probably firm up the 2018 QB recruit, knowing what the level of competition is...

Rumors have it that Nuss wanted to start LDR in the first game, but that Mac over ruled him and wanted Franks

We must have thrown 10 wr screens. That's just trying to keep it easy on the qb. I don't know if it's the routes called or the qb, probably both, but Franks does not throw the ball In the middle of the field.

Down field routes were called for both QBs. Franks seemed a bit too indecisive, or could not read the defense well enough to throw them

Ha! I'm just burnt out man. Besides last saturday afternoon I spent the day chasing skirts since we had a late game and it was successful. I figure if I spent even more time doing that. Well...easy choice :D
