Here is a look at who the teams in the SEC East (as well as FSU and Miami) played in week one - along with their Sagarin Preseason Ratings.
Florida – New Mexico State #169
Miami – Bethune Cookman #186
Florida State – Texas State #123
Tennessee – Bowling Green #88
South Carolina – North Carolina #46
Vanderbilt – Western Kentcky #66
Kentucky – Louisiana Lafayette #91
Georgia – Louisiana Monroe #124
Missouri – SE Missouri State #189
As you can see, by far the best team played was North Carolina - and the Gamecocks could have (should have) lost that game.
Based on each team's level of opponent, in all facets of the game, Florida looked as good as any team on their schedule this year.
My early take is, there isn't anyone who looks like a complete world beater in the East at this time and certainly no one Florida should fear.
We'll get a better feel for where teams stand after this coming weekend.
