Which team improves more in 2019?

If Kirby was UF's coach last year, what do you think his record would have been?

I don't think he gets to 10 wins.

Honestly, I think 8-10 wins. We lost on a Hail Mary to Tennessee and had 2-3 games that went down to the final minutes in his first season. 8 wins can easily be 10 and 10 can easily be 8. I’d argue that your 2018 team was more talented than your 2019 team will be. Let’s not act like your team was devoid of talent, especially along the lines.

We went from 4 wins to 10 wins in just 1 year. We improved towards the end of the year and playing our best football at the end of the season.

If that isn’t excellent coaching then I don’t know what is.

What talent on the lines? Jaewon Taylor is a high level talent on the oline but outside of him Martez Ivey will likely only be the only player drafted and it’ll be mid to late rounds. So 3 out of 5 likely undtafted. They have experience but aren’t overly talented. On the defensive line our best player was a grad transfer from West Virginia who showed up on campus a few weeks before the season started. The rest were almost non-existent. It’s one of the reasons we struggled to stop the run all year.

2018 had a few standout players on each side of the ball but overall the depth sucked and we weren’t overly talented top to bottom.

You had a great season, but you weren’t playing so great before that season ending gauntlet of Idaho, FSU, and a highly overrated Michigan. I think you’re giving them way too much credit.

You didn’t have any good rush ends on D? I forget their names but they were all over the field every game. I know, in a 3-4 they’re call “OLB’s”, but they’re really defensive ends.

Polite was really good. Jefferson was hit or miss. But then you’d have to give the staff credit for Polite, look at his production the previous two years. And before the staff got here he was an undersized 260 lb. end before they made him drop weight and moved him to OLB.

See I like this kinda football talk :D

Bro, I came on here defending Kirby. I’ve never said one negative thing about Mullen and his staff, other than he’s kind of dorky and has no style whatsoever. I think you have your guy, I just happen to believe ours is better. Looking forward to some good matchups in Jax moving forward.

My only point in the Richt v Kirby is that Dawgs were pretty damn excited after year 3 of Richt. Need to see how this plays out over the next couple of years. SEC east has been a dumpster fire during Kirby's first 3 season. If Gators can continue to improve and Vols ever get their shit together, things will get a little tougher in the east.

The east will soon be the better division.

Recruit Class Rankings:

6. Clemp's-son - 2016
22. Clemp's-son - 2017
8. Clemp's-son - 2018
9. Clemp's-son - 2019
Average = 45/4 = 11.25

So this means that we can all totally disregard Dabo,,, because rivals says that he can't recruit Top 5 classes, or even average a Top 10 class... o_O

Please disregard the facts that he's won 2 of the last 3 NC's....

Well, I think it’s easier to get to the playoffs annually when you play in the ACC. And no one is disregarding Dabo. They struggled mightily against average sec teams last year, with the exception of the title game. SEC is a grind and you need quality depth to get through it.

CU 56 - 35 SCa (-21 rival game vs SEC team)
CU 30 - 3 ND 12-1 (-27)
CU 44 - 16 UA 14-1 (-28)

I didn’t realize ND was an SEC team. WTF are you talking about?

Don’t let that South Carolina score fool you. Go look at the stats from that game. A lot closer than the final score. They gave up 600 yards to SOUTH CAROLINA.

Eerily similar to cocktail party but in a different way. You guys think it was close but the stats prove otherwise.

You're just another clueless buttsniffing troll.
ND is ACC-ish for football, making it an easy game for CU I guess...

There is a well known stratigy of letting a team wear itself out between the 20's, while stuffing them in the redzone, but I guess in your world the yards are more impressive than a +21 final score...

CU still beat 9-4 aTm in their house in the 2nd game of the season. o_O
Stats only count when they fit YOUR argument,,, but btw, the score is the ONLY STAT that matters.

Just like it's the Final Season Rankings that matter, not individual games during the season. :p
6. UF
7. LSU
8 UGly

UGA underachieved this year. UF overachieved. Both teams have question marks going into next season.

You have two football nattys in the last 40 years?

They have one title in their entire history. They did not win a title in 1942, despite their claim. Bullshit polls do not count. There was no coaches poll then.

From wiki:

While the Ohio State Buckeyes were crowned national champions by AP, Georgia was named national champion by NCAA-designated major selectors of Berryman, Billingsley, DeVold, Houlgate, Litkenhous, Poling, Sagarin, Sagarin (ELO-Chess), and Williamson.[2]

Weren’t national titles crowned before the bowls back then? If you’ve already won it why play in bowl game?

We underachieved with freshmen and sophomores? The sugar bowl was a disappointment. You finished 3rd in the east.

Name our question marks...
We weren’t even pre-season top 25 I don’t believe and finished 7th in the country. I would say that is overachieving. Way to ignore that #7 National ranking UF finished with. Of course you underachieved IMO. You lost 3 games and lost to Texas after you said you should have been in the playoffs. How does that happen with all those great recruiting classes?

Of course you have no question marks I guess according to you. That means it will be all that sweeter when UGA underachieve yet again.

I personally think your head coach is one of your question marks. He’s good for a few really dumb game day decision during the year because at some point only being a great recruiter is not enough. You have to be able to coach at some point also.

You won’t bet your team against our head coach, though. That’s one thing I do know. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

2. Ohio state chicken shitted out of playing a bowl. Georgia beat UCLA in the Rose Bowl. Don’t care if you don’t recognize it with your made up rules. It’s as legit as many others claimed by other schools.

Anyone who claims a minor poll championship as a real title is a POS.

UF has minor titles as well. Do we claim them? Nope. Because we have character. But you wouldn't understand that.

Oh, and BTW, back then final polls came out before the bowls, so whether OSU played in a bowl game or not, didn't matter. If you knew anything about anything, you would know that.

Hey Shit eater, your great coach lost his last TWO GAMES this year and ours not only won but, won convincingly. I like out situation better. The only thing you got next year is a VERY weak schedule especially OOC.

So if the Dwags claim they have 2, then this means we have 4. In 1984, when we broke the 6 game losing streak to the Dwags. I believe it was the New York Times and Sagarin polls who voted us number one and National Champions.
As much as I'd like to claim 1984 as National Champions, it'll only bring us down to the Dwag fans level. I'll pass.

Didn’t you cheat that year and have to vacate the SEC?

Smart would have lost 5-6 games last year if he was UFs coach. He’s a good recruiter but his game day decision making is terrible.
