Where should the Gators be ranked to start next year?

Michigan probably lost more player than anyone in the country. I think the total is 19 senior or Draft eligible Jrs like pepper and one of the corner in the country... DUDE the whole team is gome ..st to not I just don't see them as a top 25 game one .. maybe by year end they may be top 25 or even top 15 .. dont see it game 1. Honestly they lost just about the whole 1st team.

Shannon has an okay rep since he was a poor HC .. dude was the DC over a bama type defense for UM
During Shannon's six years as the Hurricanes defensive coordinator, his defenses consistently finished among the best in the nation:

dont see any learning curve for him at DC.

not saying UF does not have issues with some losses and QB but mich will be beatabel game one and Shannon will not be one of the issues .. JMHO

Good post overall, but I'm pretty sure Michigan will be ranked in the preseason top 25 based on reputation and Harbaugh alone. I believe we should be ranked 15-20 range but could be a little closer to 20-25.

Kinda gotta agree with the Nole...at least a little bit. Through the first couple weeks of the season Ole Miss had the #1 ranked schedule in the country. And their margin in the first half of games was top 5 I believe...they were beating the hell out of some really good teams and then giving games away in the second half. Then injuries piled up and they lost Kelly and it was all down hill. But like they say you are what your record says you are. I think they're much better than 5-7 but a few breaks went against them and they ended up 5-7 so that's what they are.

Just saw a pre-season poll, I believe it was from USA Today. FSU #1, Alabama #2, Michigan #4, UF #22.

The Gator's began 2016 at #25/NR.
More importantly they finished at #14 AP, as 6-2 SECe-C, and the 9-4 Outback Bowl Champs.

Media-Moron Alert:
#13 LSU 8-4 (finished at #3 in the SEC-w behind UA & AU)
#14 UF
9-4 SECe-C
UF 16 - 10 LSU head to head @ LSU.

Note: Both #3 USC and #4 UW, in the Final Top 5?
And 4 Big 10 teams in the Top 10? -- See bowl results,,, Moe-Rons!

OK, Tn, and the neutered lame all began the season in the AP preseason Top 10. Only Ok remained in the Top 10, and they finished ranked lower than where they began. While UF went from #25/NR to AP #14 and the Outback Bowl Champ, UF 30 - 3 Iowa.

How can anyone really care where the twits put UF in the preseason polls?

If michigan is that high and we win we will be in the top 6 by the end of september lol.. UT would be the other toughest game and they probably won't beat us in the Swamp with revenge on our mind for the first time since i was in high school. if we are actually decent in year 3 next year sets up beautifully for us from the jump because of the first game and michigan losing everyone being ranked too high to catapult us up there. Even if we started like 5-1 we would still be around the top ten after the first loss to a ranked opponent. Mac better get it going next year because it's set up for him, schedule is harder than last year but we play everyone at home and the road schedule is easy. The Georgia game might decide the east. UGA plays at ND and @UT in the first month of the season..

Fair points. Perception is reality tho. If u are perceived good the cfp committee eill think u r good and therefore rank u higher. I agree that potato heads make the rankings but they in a very round about way matter

Preseason Polls: AP #25 UF -- Coaches NR

Final 2016 Polls:
9-4 UF AP #14 -- Coaches #13 (SECe-C, UF 16 - 10 @ LSU)
8-4 LSU AP #13 -- Coaches #14
Showing that the coaches are smarter than the media-morons, again...

SEC Teams in the Final Coaches Top 25:
2. UA 14-1 SEC-C
13. UF 9-4 SECe-C (UF 16 - 10 @ LSU)

14. LSU 8-4 (beat Heisman QB UL 29-9 in bowl)
22. AU 8-5 (2nd highest ranked SEC, got the Sugar Bowl, lost to OK)
24. TN 9-4 (AP preseason #10, projected SECe-C) :p

They're nuts. Michigan loses 10 off defense alone and about half of their offense. That's not a #4 team

I wouldn't have them nearly that high even though the replacements are probably pretty good. I think they have a few good DTs coming back that are pretty good but weren't technically starters.
