The Gators are applying for an immediate NCAA/SEC eligibility waiver for Georgia transfer Brenton Cox Jr. and Mullen believes he has a good chance of getting one. Cox reached out after he hit the portal last week, the linebacker called some UF players to ask about the program, Mullen then talked to his family: “One of the things about him wanting to move quickly on it … is to get this waiver process started.”

Wonder what the grounds for his waiver will be ? UGA Sucks ? Maybe the check bounced !

All QBs seem to get waivers no matter how stupid the reason behind their request, so maybe Cox could claim that he is the QB of the defense !

Dildo CB Steele bounced twice, ending up with the toejams, and he got waived to play...

Rumors are some not so good things going on at UGA similar to the Fields deal which makes them think they could possibly get a waiver.

I hate this portal crap. But it seems like there is no formal standard on who is granted immediate eligibility and who is not. Hope the kid gets a waiver. We could use the depth at linebacker.

Nope. A lot going on behind the scenes here on this one with what happened at UGA. He very well has a legit reason for trying to get a waiver and he’s going for it.

Lol Bitter Betty’s out in full force slandering Cox’s name while they still got other weed smokers on the team. Pathetic.

Your source is a premium membership. Stop pretending to be some insider. Never seen a man chase clout on the internet so much.

I’m the narcissist but you’re speaking with authority about his source when you you don’t even know who his source is if any. Seems narcissistic.

And you just admitted you don’t even have a source. Logic isn’t your thing apparently. You just love talking just to talk.

I know what went down in Athens and what didn't.

Yeah it wasnt because he had a piss poor attitude bc he was falling down the depth chart. That's usually when u determine someone's character when their back's against the wall. Good thing he wont have anyone pushing for his position at Florida.
I'm just thankful he won't be beating up on Andrew Thomas and Isaiah Wilson anymore. Total beast! This will probably cost us in Jaxville. Who do we have that can stop him......yikes!

LMFAO :D - Even IF he gets a waiver, he won't be starting in 2019 imoho.

I expect that Cox would get some playing time as a backup in 2019. How much would depend on how quickly he could pick up Grantham's defense, and how well he competed with those already on the Gator roster.

ILB David Reese II 6-1 239 SR - All SEC & on 2 Watch Lists
ILB James Houston IV 6-1 233 rsSo
ILB Ventrell Miller 6-0 222 rsSo

SDE Jabari Zuniga 6-4 246 rsSr

Brenton Cox 6-4 247 Soph ILB or BUCK at UF ???
BUCK = OLB - rush DE in Grantham's 3-4 defense.

BUCK Jon Greenard 6-3 263 - Grad-Sr - All ACC at UL
BUCK Jeremiah Moon 6-6 228 rsJr
Moon was working behind 2 guys that just went to the NFL.
BUCK Zach Carter 6-4 263 rsSo - now coming into his own.
BUCK Andrew Chatfield 6-0 243 rsJr - been lighting it up in practice.
~ LB/Star/BUCK Amari Burney 6-2 224 4.4/40 Soph -- 'freakizoid'

The former five-star who was expected to play a vital role on the Bulldogs' defense this season decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal during the first week of practice, a mutual decision between Cox and Georgia coach Kirby Smart.

Cox tweeted for the first time since his decision on Monday, saying, "All these shots I'm takin, they must not know I'm Bulletproof."

>>> Vital role, not beat out, and chose to xfer, not kicked off team. o_O -- :p

Smart broke his silence on Cox's departure following Georgia's scrimmage on Saturday.

“Concerns? I don’t know about that," Smart said when asked if he had any concerns about Cox moving on to Florida so quickly. "Brenton chose to withdraw from the University of Georgia, going into the portal. He’s now at another SEC institution so we wish him nothing but the best and we appreciate his contributions while he was here.”

"Oh, yeah, we’re definitely going to apply for a waiver for him and see," Mullen said. "We feel good about it, of having him be able to play. I think you look at all the previous scenarios that are out there around the country, we feel we have a good opportunity."
It's unclear exactly what basis Florida would apply for one on, as Mullen said he preferred to keep the process itself in house.

Yes, that premium membership you pay for really puts you behind the scenes. Fake insider.
LOL... I've never pretended to be an insider nor claimed to be. You're wrong yet again... but kudos for keeping your emotions in check.

ATHENS —
The odds are very long (not guaranteed impossible) that former Georgia 5-star outside linebacker Brenton Cox will be cleared to play this season at Florida. That’s according to NCAA transfer expert Tom Mars. The Atlanta-based attorney, who is considered one of country’s foremost legal authorities on the NCAA’s transfer policies, said he doesn’t have any inside knowledge about the grounds Cox might use to request a waiver for immediate eligibility with the Gators, but he doesn’t see it happening. “Unless there’s some well-kept secret that would qualify him for a waiver, I’d say chances of Brenton Cox getting a waiver are approximately zero,” Mars said Tuesday.
=====

Florida coach Dan Mullen on Monday said not only would the Gators seek a waiver for Cox’s immediate eligibility, but added that he was fairly confident that it will be granted. (smoke & mirrors)

Maybe Mullen should ask Mars the 'who and how much' the check should be for.... (lawyers are the middle men for the 'Golden Rule' legal system. Those with the Gold,,, make up the Rules..) o_O

Personally, (iG) doesn't think that he will play in 2019,,, for several reasons, a lack of talent not being one of them. However, he's still a roster plus for 2019 because 'he knows things' about other teams....;)

Edit --- Just had a random thought. Maybe this is a balance for UGly hiring DB coach Warren away from UF, in their failed attempt to get Elam's commit... :p

I bet Oozie is throwing furniture all around the house right now lol yes you act like you 'know what's going on in Athens'
I know better than Oozie or most Gators what's going on in Athens but I've never claimed to be an insider. I do know who to pay attention to.

We couldn't take Elam once Ford transferred to Illinois. We had to get another TE.

Seems unlikely. But if he is granted eligibility it would certainly raise some eyebrows towards athens.
I actually think Florida would be better off if he didn't get a waiver. If he is going to turn his attitude around and live up to his expectations sometimes it is better to take some time off and regroup. As a human that sometimes helps us learn our lesson. Then he comes back next year with a better attitude and a "prove the world wrong" fight in him and no one remembers his time at Georgia.

If he plays this year and in his mind proves that he didn't act up at Georgia he doesn't learn his lesson and thinks the way he was doing it at Georgia is the exact way he should do it at Florida and then ends up not contributing much and becomes a a virus on the team.

Well, even IF that was true, (unlikely as that is), thanks for taking Warren off our hands so that Dan could hire Torriam Gray back from the Washington Redskins...

So you copy and paste well and pretend it’s your info. Glad I’m on your mind even when I’m not posting.

Maybe you do know more than most Gators, you should it's your team...but you're full of it on the rest. Instead of just stating your OPINION on your biggest rivals board or talking about things...you're hear to talk trash and tell us all how great UGA is compared to anyone...lame bro and you don't get it. Oh...yes, you have claimed to know what's going on in Athens multiple times.

Suck it up... I endured the late 90s/early 00s working with 2 UF grads.

Who is Torriam Gray? Did he coach in your Spring game, what position group?
