I think we can forget about Russia doing any ceasefire deal where Ukraine just has to be so many miles out of that Donbass area. It's looking highly likely now with idiotic moves like this and Russia making clear gains that Russia will take a few more areas completely before considering any ceasefire. They might want to go ahead and take that Odesa port city also and keep it permanently now. This is what happens when you have the leftist globalist Keystone Cops giving Ukraine its plans.
Fending off a drone attack even with chaff in a rotary wing aircraft has to be terrifying.
I am really surprised they tried it even though that would be a big symbolic blow.

I have no problem with Ukraine trying to win any way they can. Not a Zelensky fan, because he is the most corrupt leader...but Russia is attacking them as hard as they can(not nuclear) so game is on.......
When it happens during negotiations to end the fighting?
It seems pretty obvious that neither Putin or Zelenesky want the fighting to end.
Trump has been clear all along, he doesn't care who 'wins', he just wants people to stop dying. He wants the fighting to end.
Maybe he knew this was pointless and he's planning on using this to ultimately pull the US out of this conflict, and out of NATO as well. I'd be fine with that. Let Europe clean up its own mess.
So yes....you have to respond to the attack with strength during negotiations, or the other side thinks that they can FORCE you in to certain things because of the pressure they are using. Trump knew who Putin was...he was just trying diplomacy first. I would imagine there will be some pain headed Russia's way soon.
