They didn't.
Go home Nole.
"Does the selection committee see a small margin of separation between No. 2 Ohio State and No. 7 Penn State? We do not," Hocutt said. "At this point in time, Michigan at three, Clemson at four, Washington at five, there is a small separation between those teams there."
Translation: Ohio State is considerably better than Penn State in the committee's eyes right now. That's very good news for the Buckeyes.
Why? Because it now seems possible that Ohio State could be the Big Ten's representative in the playoff even if Penn State wins the conference.
FSU. Easily.Sad...........
Who do you think will win between Michigan and FSU in the Orange Bowl?
I like it. No more games than that.In an 8 team playoff, if UF beats Bama and takes the SEC championship, I think they should be in. Bama would still get an at-large slot. I think winning a major conference should still mean something. Otherwise, it's all in the hands of the ranking committee.
How about this:
8 slots total:
This takes some of the power out of the hands of the committee, and ensures that winning a conference still means something.
- 5 slots for the P5 champs
- 1 slot for the top-rated "Group of Five" (non-P5) team
- 2 at-large slot, "wildcard" slots for the top-ranked, remaining teams, regardless of conference affiliation
Worse...look who they beat....FSU aint shit look who they lost too.
washington ain't getting no 2 seed
FSU would get eaten alive by michigans defense
Washington just locked up the 2 seed and will be the home team in the Fiesta Bowl. Will be interesting to see what happens with Clemson, Ohio State, Penn State, and Wisconsin.
Dude, the committee doesn't even know if they want Washington in as the LAC-12 Champ. They are going to be the 4 if anything
Clemson would have to be pretty bad tonight for Washington to move to the 2nd seed I believe.

They just pasted the #8 team in the country to win the PAC-12 while OSU sat on the couch and Clemson looks terrible against VT. It would be a total joke if they're not #2 tomorrow.
They'll get in, but let's be real about Colorado. They played three teams with talent and got waxed three times. Beating a few teams ranked in the low twenties didn't warrant their ranking.
It doesn't matter what you or I think about CU. The committee has the only opinion that matters and Colorado was #8.

They've been pretty bad.
I think the 4 teams remain the same. Penn State's head to head loss and extra loss will be used to say why they left them out and let OSU in.
My guess now is Bama will be # 1, Clemson # 2, OSU # 3 and Washington# 4. You never know but I just don't see them putting Penn State in over Washington and I think they will have OSU #3 with the argument they have the best wins despite losing to Penn State and not winning the conference and I think they would rather not have OSU # 4 just in front of Penn State due to their justification issues. Slim chance they even keep them # 2 for that same reason.
Let me guess: the committee said last week "Washington ain't getting no #2 seed"?
They are doing a great job deflecting attention from OSU over PSU by asking about Washington over PSU.
Washington played nine conference games too.
Beat Stanford, Colorado, WA State, and were dominant in winning nearly all their games, and lost one game to arguably the hottest team in the country right now.
PSU over OSU was more merited.
Alabama and PSU in Atlanta
Washington and Clemson in Tempe
Just my opinion.

4 criteria:
Conf title
SOS (especially OOC)
Quality wins
Bad losses
OSU wins 3 of 4. OSU was never a consideration to get left out.
Yeah and the beneficiary of it seems to be Clemson. Not sure what people have seen from them that makes them the unquestioned #2. Have they honestly been more impressive than UW?
At least Bama will have to play spread offenses in back to back games. Washington and Clemson/OSU are the types of teams Saban struggles with. Certainly a tougher draw for Bama this year than last where they got Michigan State who you knew they were going to trounce.
Clemson should have probably dropped to #3 or #4 after the VT game.
