There have been quite a few Tweets about Cleveland State transfer PG Tyree Appleby visiting UF "this weekend" some Tweets indicated that the visit will start Friday.

I have held back on posting about the visit until I could get clarification on when the visit actually begins.

The reason for this is because I knew that it was not going to be a full weekend visit. See, an evaluation period begins on Thursday & ends on Sunday. The staff will be on the road watching prospects at events like:

  • Nike Peach Jam (North Agusta, SC)
  • Under Armour Finals (Cartersville, GA)
  • Adidas Gauntlet Championship (Birmingham, AL)

After speaking with a source close to Appleby's recruitment I've learned that the UF coaches will be back in Gainesville, for Appleby's visit, late Saturday and he will be on campus all day Sunday.

Appleby will have two seasons of Eligibility after sitting out the 2019-20 season. He averaged 17.2 points and 5.6 assists per game last season.

Appleby's brother, Raheem, played for Mike White at La Tech.

Bring him in...

Personally, this long time Gator fan would love to see all of these guys do an '04' and hang around for B-2-B NC's.... -- Getting their UF degrees would be the 'All Gator' icing for their careers too. ;) (hoping and wishing is not illegal)

I read it. If he's on campus it is imo.
There is more to do here than just talk to the coaches.
Okay. He wasn't on campus at the time you posted. I had just finished texting with him and I didn't want people to get the idea that the visit had already begun.

Good enough for me and no prob-blem-mo. I had read somewhere that he would be on campus before the coaches returned late Sat. night, and that he would be here through at least Sunday.

You got any early Sunday afternoon news on how his stay is going yet?

I had some fun looking at other sites that are talking about PG Tyree Applebe's possible xfer to UF.

Comments:

~ Should be a gator. His brother played for Mike White at LA Tech.

~ His other brother grad transfered here to play football :p

~ we love our applebees

~ I’m truly more of a Chili’s fan myself if we’re being honest, but I’ll convert to Applebee’s for the Gator Nation

~ He's Florida-bound. Book it.

~ Are you saying a Tyree from Cleveland could be on his way to Florida? Last minute 3 pointer to beat UT confirmed. (now that's cute/funny, I don't care who you are - iG)

Personally, the iG likes him for a Gator commit, i.e. xfer in.... Sit 1 then play 2.
iG still has his fingers crossed.... ;)

News is news.

Russ, I don't pay to read on the sports net, it was on a free board. just like this one is a free and open board.

Of course IF I've broken any board rules by posting that, then feel free to delete it, I won't mind... :)

I would be surprised if both AN and TM are here after the upcoming season. But if they are, then damn we are loaded at PG. Mike White must know something. Good pickup

What I know is 'not much,' but that never keeps me (nor anyone else here) from having an opinion anyway... :D

Anyhoo.... What it looks like to me is the team Mikes building has 2 halves.
The back court - PG-SG-CG-SF and the front court - PF-C.
It looks to me like the back court guys could play any of the positions, and the same goes for the front court guys. The mix and match should be interesting to watch.

I think the last 2 years have infuriated Mike due to Big-Guys injuries and Back-Guys speed and accuracy deficiencies... He looks to be putting in the roster / depth to not have it happen to him or his team again. o_O

Note - Mike White again beats out RS-R for a xfer (Appleby)... :p

Agreed. Good recruiting by White to make sure all his bases are covered.
