Saw Tyquan Thornton last night. He was up and down, but the up good outweighed the bad. He was one of his team’s two most productive offensive weapons and established that from the start. On the first play of the game, he was on the receiving end of a 40-plus-yard reception that saw him get over on five-star DB Patrick Surtain.
He still needs to add muscle and goes down pretty easily, but his length and acceleration are impressive. I don’t have stats, but I’m almost certain he led his team in receiving yards and (probably) catches. If he gets a little stronger and works on his hands, he’s going to be an impressive weapon in the SEC.
