Fumbles happen. Throwing shoes is........something you'd see in the Middle East during a soccer game. WTF?

Fumbles happen, yes.

When you are a 4th year player with a history of fumbling and you are driving for the winning score in a tied game, your one and only concern should be TWO HANDS ON THE MOTHERFU**ING FOOTBALL!!!!! You secure that football so tight it explodes into a million pieces before it comes out of your hands.

I ask a different question. Who made the call to give him the rock, knowing that history? Running backs coach. Mullen can't and won't micromanage the entire game. Why give a player who has that rep even have a chance to choke? Situational football. Gotta play the odds, and snake eyes again.

Knox and Grantham should both be fired.

Running back is an odd position.

It's one of the few that translates almost immediately at a freshman or rookie because so much of it comes from the image athleticism and skill of the player. Not sure how much coaching can be done.

The next big factor is the o-line. Trent Richardson looked incredible at Alabama and then seemingly forgot how to play football in the NFL. Why? Well here's a fun stat. At Bama, his final year, Richardson averaged 2.5 yards a carry before first contact. That's offensive line production right there. Shouldn't be surprising since basically every single offensive lineman for Alabama that last 12 years has ended up in the NFL.

Im not saying coaching doesn't matter, but I do think you're limited in what you can actually do with the position many times.

Fire the incompetent AD that hired Dan.
Fire incompetent Dan because he hired Todd and all the rest of those bums.
Cancel the Ships of any player recruited by McLame.

Wait, since Dan is also incompetent, cancel all ships and start over.
New AD, HC, Staff, and recruits...
You know, maybe some incompetent whining fans need to be banned while we're at it. 🤓

And now, back to that comfortable armchair... 😏

Insta, please tell me more about Todd Grantham.

I keep on seeing 'ignored member' below my posts.
Obviously just another clueless troll mouthing off.

If it's the Gator version of the village idiot (dunnygoater), he can tell us all about how Trask is just a two star loser backup Eagle Scout that never should have been allowed on the UF campus...

If it's one of the UGly nuttlickers, don't bother attempting to tell them anything. 😏

I have had some time to reflect on what happened last night. Ultimately a coach can only control so much of what his players do. Wilson was having a good night and had made possibly the biggest play of the night. The shoe came off in his hand after the tackle. If that doesn’t happen he probably just chest bumps a teammate. We’ve all seen a basketball player launch the ball after dribbling out the clock in a big win. I’m not making excuses be I can understand.

Wilson was having a pretty bad game before the penalty. He gets picked on quite a bit.

The last time I saw a shoe featured so prominently in the news
was years ago when some arab in Iraq was shown using his shoe to hit the
head of the toppled statue of Saddam Hussein.

My memory is a little rusty. How about you list ALL of the many funbles that Malik has had at UF.
In 10 SEC games for 2020, the Gators only have a total of 7 lost possession fumbles.
Has Malik had more than the 1 early season fumble?

Malik Davis was a real bum in HS too, which is probably why Dabo attempted to flip him away from UF.
I just can't imagine why that idiot Dan keeps on playing him, instead of taking TJ's vast football knowledge advice by dumping him???

OTOH -- I'm obviously not Dan, but I'd be real tempted to not start Marco in the SEC-C game, and I'd encourage him to move on to the NFL draft in 2021.

Both Dan and Todd are still mostly playing with McLame's recruits, something that the most 'entitled' fans often overlook.

A loss is a loss but crazy stuff anyway. The SEC east thing is at least over. A Bama huge upset would be nice but they are probably just too talented unless we win the turnover battle by 2 +.

You’re not wrong, but the two don’t equate at all. One is an error of omission (Davis didn’t cover up the ball) the other is an error of commission (we know what happened...) Davis screwed up. Marco straight screwed us out of a win. I’m not a fan of blaming one play for a loss, but when it’s not even a mistake but just something stupid that will go down in history as one of the dumbest moves of all time that cost your team a chance, long as it was, at the playoffs... yeah, he wasn’t the only player who made a mistake in that game, but unlike other mistakes, the rest might not have counted at all if he doesn’t do... that. Seriously. I haven’t been able to even come to the board since the game and I’m only here bc it’s signing day. There have been some awful losses but that may be the worst way I’ve ever seen us lose a game. It’s right there with the egg bowl from last year in a very similar fashion. But I don’t disagree that Davis should have been more aware. I just don’t think it’s fair at all to conflate the two.
