There is a lot of hypocrisy around abortion. At the same time, I never criticized you for not getting it and never will.
My view on Abortion (I am pro-choice) is that it should be left to the states and individuals. If Alabama wants to be pro-life and Michigan pro-choice
You truly do take the cake for analogies that do not add up. No one is saying the vaccine is a failure. What they are saying is....Great job getting it done quickly. All good. Now, I will wait and make sure it is safe. Try too hard.
I wonder....what will you say to those of us....if in 2 years this vax is found to have serious health consequences? I won't say, I told you so....I will just say, this is why I waited.
Do me a favor...What are the odds of someone catching covid and dying. Now, what are the odds of the vax having a serious health impact at some point. I have a feeling you won't be able to post those odds, at least on the latter.
Also....a topic Doc Mcstuffin still hasn't wanted to address. Has our Government ever told us any other vaccines were safe, only to find out later they weren't, and had serious health impacts. Hint: Gulf War Syndrome
I think this contextualization is really important and puts the framing in a very reasonable light. If the consistent dialogue was:
1. Amazing that the Vaccine was produced this quickly
2. The Vaccine has had a profoundly positive impact so far (cases, hospitalizations, deaths, ability to re-open, reduced need for additional Covid-19 spending, etc.)
3. Trump deserve direct credit for it's success
4. but...there is a subset of the population who is hesitant to take it as the normal protocols were not able to be followed. When it gets full authorization (which likely won't be until November as there is a six month path), we will be happy to take it.
If that is the narrative, that is understandable. I would encourage those, if you fall into that camp, to repeat the above. Otherwise, it just comes off as a position that is obstructive and holds the country back from getting to full normal.
Finally, and as I said on another thread (or the above), if you are going to take the risk in not getting Vaccinated, then you, and not your fellow policyholders or taxpayers, pay for any and all costs if you get seen, hospitalized or require extensive medical treatment.
If you take the risk, then you bear the responsibility.
