So like any patriotic American, I was outraged at Garland's weaponization of the FBI to attack our President Trump. So I was happy to make a very generous (as I am a very generous guy) donation to help cousin Donnie's cause.
I got on the phone and was immediately greeted by Sarah. My mind immediately raced. We started chatting about first everything that's happening with this country right now, but also what's been happening in the world for the last decade. This girl had her head on straight and was obviously a very critical thinker. She even gave me the dish on some things that will be coming soon from Trump. (Hint, we will all be looking forward to 2024 soon!)
Sarah was so happy and passionate about working for America. I loved her enthusiasm, and remarked on it. She thanked me, and said she was just happy to finally be in a position where she could make a difference. I asked 'Was it always this way?"
"Oh gosh no! Why my former job I was absolutely miserable! Dealing with people who couldn't or wouldn't pay their bills! I was forced to hound one poor guy for over a year on his account! It was so bad we finally tracked him down to his reported address...it was a public library! I was mortified!!!!'
In recalling this story, I noticed Sarah's entire tone changed. All the happiness she had in discussing how she was working with our President Trump to Make America Great again left her voice. She was now overcome with the sad memory of her previous job.
I think she must have also noticed how her tone had changed. "It was horrible. I thought I had moved on. I spent a year trying to get one account current. I couldn't deal with people like that anymore."
I felt bad, like I had forced her to revisit a period of her life that had caused her pain, sapped her happiness. So I told her, let's wrap up this call, I know you have more work you need to do.
I decided to make a monthly donation. And right before I hung up, I said "You know what Sarah, can you make one small amendment to that donation?"
"Well sure, if I can!"
"Can you make it so the amount is increased by $9.95 for the first 12 months? But I want that amount to go to you. Just think of it as a.....moving on gift. I feel like you deserve that."
"Wait, I.....but how did you.....I......thank you so much!!!"
She was so happy, she almost started crying.
You're free now Sarah. Free to keep on Making America Great Again!
