Last night I drove over to Beaufort, South Carolina with two friends that are rabid FSU fans (yes, I do have friends that root for the evil SOW) to attend the somewhat famous, “Men’s Wildlife Supper.”
The crowd was so big that I was thinking Donald Trump must be around here somewhere. The guest speaker was none other than our own Tim Tebow.
A video of Tim’s life played before he came out to speak to a packed house with an overflow crowd of some 3,000 plus.
Tim started his comments by honoring all the military men that was present and telling stories about how his family has always been so competitive. Then proceeded to and bring a group of men together to accept Jesus Christ. It was very moving
I won’t go into detail about his speech other than to say that Tim has become a very polished speaker filled with humor (even a dig against Tennessee) and a message that resonates. His varied tone goes from very audible to almost a whisper. Without a doubt, he captivated the large gathering of men.
When we left one of my Nole friends said. “I used to hate Tebow when he played for Florida but I can tell you that he just gained a fan. I have nothing but admiration and respect for him”
The 2 hour 15 minute drive from Aiken, SC to Beaufort was worth every minute of it. If you ever get the chance to attend a function with Tim as the guest speaker I can assure you that you will be moved by his message and be proud to be a Florida Gator.
