Problem with that is we play them at home. Well THEIR home.

Vandy beating them truly was a blessing though.

Not sure how the SEC is doing it's rules these days though for conference leaders, but since the 3 of us all have 1 conference loss, are we all tied? Or is Florida like half a game ahead since our SEC loss was to a west team and not a divisional SEC team? None of it makes any difference right now as we still have to play both Georgia and Misery still, but it could matter if all 3 of us have a 1-1 against the other two after all is said and done. I know that a 3 way tie means that the team with the highest ranking in the poll becomes the divisional leader.

Don't think so - see below

Lucky for us Georgia still has to play Auburn and Texas A&M and might lose to either of those 2.

grommit,

Hope that this is on point -

Three or more-team procedure[edit]
(Once the tie has been reduced to two teams, go to the two-team tie-breaker format.)

  1. Combined head-to-head record among the tied teams.
  2. Record of the tied teams within the division.
  3. Records against the team within the division with the best overall (divisional and non-divisional) Conference record and proceeding through the division. Multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last.
  4. Complete record vs. non-division teams.
  5. Complete record vs. all common non-divisional teams.
  6. Record vs. common non-divisional team with the best overall Conference (divisional and non-divisional) record and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division.
  7. Best cumulative Conference winning percentage of non-divisional opponents (Note: If two teams' non-divisional opponents have the same cumulative record, then the two-team tiebreaker procedures apply. If four teams are tied, and three teams' non-divisional opponents have the same cumulative record, the three-team tiebreaker procedures will be used beginning with #1
  8. Coin flip of the tied teams with the team with the odd result being the representative (Example: If there are two teams with tails and one team with heads, the team with heads is the representative)
Two-team tie-breaker procedure[edit]
  1. Head-to-head competition between the two tied teams.
  2. Records of the tied teams within the division.
  3. Records against the team within the division with the best overall (divisional and non-divisional) conference record and proceeding through the division. Multiple ties within the division will be broken from first to last.
  4. Complete record vs. all non-divisional opponents.
  5. Complete record vs. all common non-divisional teams if there be any.
  6. Record vs. common non-divisional opponent (if there be any) with the best overall conference (divisional and non-divisional) record and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish within their division.
  7. Best cumulative conference winning percentage of non-divisional opponents
  8. Coin flip of the tied teams

Won’t be a 3 team tie. Mizzou is ineligible to play in the SEC title game.

Paco,

You are correct,
BUT
Mizzou has appealed the bowl ban which is what makes them ineligible for the SEC title game.

On Jan. 31, Missouri was handed a postseason ban and a series of recruiting restrictions. The school immediately appealed, saying the NCAA Infractions Committee had "abused its discretion."

If Missouri wins its appeal, it would then be allowed to go to a bowl game and theoretically become eligible for the SEC title.

Even stranger, HOWEVER,
While Missouri appeals, most of the penalties are stayed.

If the appeal decision drags beyond the end of the season -- not likely, but with the NCAA strange things are possible -- the bowl ban would be applied in the 2020 season.

Sound familiar Gator fans ?

The Gators went 9-2 in 1990 under first-year head coach Steve Spurrier, but were ineligible for the SEC title due to the NCAA sanctions.

Thank you Tennessee and Doug Dickey !

I just don't see all three teams winning out and going 1-1 against each other. If they did, we would have the best division record and so would get the nod.

But Mizzou is up and down, and Ugaly still has Auburn and TAMU. Either one could beat them, and I think it could be both. They were exposed by SC, they had a Charmin soft first half of the season, only played 2 teams with a pulse (both at home), one beat them and the other was one final drive away from doing the same.

Some think if we beat UGa they will end up 6-2 in the SEC, not me, I think they end up 4-4.
