Thoughts on the future...?

All these defensive commits are uncertain on who the defensive coordinator is gonna be next year so they are bailing on us.
Unless they are an early signing day commit or early enrollee, isn't it a bit early with February being NSD? We still have some games to play.

Not sure the best way to handle a situation like Grantham's as far as recruiting. The kids know he is very likely gone but have no idea what will happen to the position coach either when a new one is named. Unless they really committed mostly because of the head coach they would be uncertain. Hopefully some wait and see who gets the job.

I even heard about a segment on Paul Finebaum that Muschamps former DC, T Robinson, wanted to join the staff at UF, but with Grantham having control over who he hires and not hires, Grantham decided against it. I even heard it was stated on Finebaums show that Charlie Strong had interest in returning to UF in some capacity.

I like Mullen and think he could have us as a top 5 program if that's what he becomes focused on. But he's got a take-it-or-leave-it vibe that just isn''t going to cut it. There is a lot of Spurrier in him, but he aint no Spurrier. Neither wanted to kiss some 18 year old's ass, but Spurrier was so good and had so much charisma that it didn't matter. If Mullen doesn't want to recruit, he better find somebody that does. Grantham is obviously not a championship-level DC and shouldn't have been brought back this year. Thing is with Mullen, I don't even think it's loyalty. He just doesn't want to admit that the fans are right about Grantham and about the qb.

No doubt he would see it as a move that could upend his control.

I would like to see Strong as a linebackers coach for the time being.....but chances are that he will stick with the Jags, for at least as long as UM will be there.
