From the sound of this article, the members of this organization are likely from the lower level P5 and G5 programs trying to get a piece of the pie. It's interesting that the ACC has already met with them, but the SEC/B1G don't seem interested.
What this tells us is that all the University Presidents, Athletic Directors, and other sports executives know that the SEC/B1G are going to break away and are trying to get ahead of it. I think it also tells us that the new league isn't going to come close to 70 members as proposed here. They're basically guaranteeing to all the current P5 teams that they are permanently in the league, while having 8 more teams fight to not be relegated. I still believe that the new super conference will not be anymore than 48 teams and they'll be the biggest brands in the sport who are eligible to come. One last thing this should tell us is that the SEC/B1G break away will be coming sooner rather than later.
