The one thing I like about Desantis the most

This is a third-rail issue in Florida. You might as well propose burning down Disney World or carpet-bombing the Everglades with Agent Orange.
Yeah, it just shows their hypocrisy when they bring up Keystone all the time, which isn’t even US oil.

Warmists wanting to drill more oil....to own the Trumpers LOL

I'll say it again: No people do more to destroy the environment than the warmists.

Of course cases are going up. That's what happens with variants. The virus becomes more contagious, and less severe. That's why cases are spiking with the latest variant, and all you're typically getting is a headache and some light sniffles.

The virus is burning itself up, which is GOOD NEWS. As usual, emotional sheep get themselves all upset over nothing.

In Florida, there were:
31,758 newly reported COVID-19 cases, but ZERO COVID-19 deaths on Dec 23, 2021.

Miami/Dade remains the flash point for the Communist Red Chinese Kung Flu & variants.

I know a few that have had one of them, most but not all in Florida, but not a single one of my friends or relatives has died from this scamdemic...

Well, that solves it. 800,000 dead but as long as no one in Insta’s small circle of weirdos have died, it’s all good.

You mean the whole state of Florida.

Zero deaths in the entire state of Florida.

@FresnoGator did someone mention moving goalposts? Suddenly no deaths in the entire state is meaningless, but OMG all those cases!!!!!
They keep stating that hospitals here in MD are near full capacity. Then they say something like nearly 1500 hospitalized with (not because of) covid. I just looked it up, Maryland has over 10,000 hospital beds, yet, somehow, someway, 1500 is near full capacity.

Pres Trump will pretty much be out of the public eye for the next 3 years. Support for him will wane a bit, it's just human nature.

At the same time, DeSantis will likely keep making smart moves, and support for him will grow. If they ran against each other, DeSantis would pull some support from Trump.

I don't think it would be much, and I don't think DeSantis would win if they ran against each other. But it's entirely possible, based moreso on what DeSantis does over the next 3 years.

But again, I think the best alternative by far today in 2021, is a Trump/DeSantis ticket in 2024.
You give DeSantis 3 years, he will just stupid himself our of any consideration for any office with any clout. As far as Trump, he is just a clown and anybody who would vote for him just has no brains at all....JMO

It's ICU beds which has specialized equipment versus OR peds, Med-Surg suites, etc.

What each hospital should do, by the way, is pass a certificate of need to add 10-20% more ICU capacity. It's two years and with billions of dollars being injected, many are not a small bit surprised that this has not happened.

Not all covid patients are ICU.

Ron brings up a very important point:

If this was an Insurrection, then why is no being charged as such.

The Charlie Foxtrot was an instant classic.

Now, what happened on January 6th was indeed horrific. All who broke in should go to jail for a long time. No issue in peaceful protesting.

Trump should have also, just as Don Jr, Hannity, Laura and others pleaded, called off the event immediately. Had he done that like he told the small group of "hecklers" at the recent event and then called Pelosi to ensure that she had the contingent of capitol police officers, this would in a very different light. Now, absent other positive news to run on, Pelosi and team are trying to make this, in essence, the third impeachment.

DeSantis/Scott 2024

But ICU beds is the capacity constraint being discussed.
No, you stated ICU beds. Here in MD, there is no mention of ICU beds, just hospitals are being over run. My wife works in a hospital here, and the ICU is not even used that often for covid. They basically are putting most all covid patients in one wing. Last year, the hospital used stimulus $ to build a specialized tent for covid, and to date, almost 8 months later, they have never used it.

If you position is that the media is over-stating the occupancy of beds, I do not necessarily disagree.

My wife is a hospital finance executive and sees the stats daily. Their ICUs are approaching occupancy, but are not "over-run".

Also, there was a lot of "just-in-case" spending that was never used. You are spot on.

Now, what do you think the results would be if no one vaccinated?
