3-0 UF remains at #9.

Some of the national commentators are bigger moe-rons than the AP voters that they are whining about. They claim that 15. UCF 3-0 should be ranked higher than #15, certainly above UF 3-0...

15. 3-0 UCF's monster wins so far....

@ UCF 62 - 0 FL A&M D-2 - 1-1 Their only win was overt Ft. Valley State

UCF 48 - 14 FAU - 1-2 - Their only win was over Ball State

@ UCF 45 - 27 Stan - 1-2 - Their only win was over 1-1 Northwestern

The rest of UCF's schedule is made up of teams that are called cupcakes when UF plays them.
Their only other Power-5 opponent is 1-2 Pitt.

UCF is pretty good and I’ll admit I was surprised how easily they beat Stanford

But the frenzy indeed seems premature and though not completely their fault, they will not have a marquis opponent the rest of the season although will have some good ones (all flawed but still good) in Cincy, Houston, Temple and should they win possibly Houston or Memphis

But that pales to what Florida still faces in Auburn, LSU and Georgia, let alone Missouri, SC and even Tennessee and FSU

UCF should have tried to play Florida any way possible. The only way for UCF or Memphis or Houston or Boise State to have a playoff chance is to play 3 of their non conference games against stellar opponents. Stanford was one of those, it is not UCF fault they seem down. If they ALSO had Florida and Notre Dame instead of Pitt and Florida Atlantic they might have a shot if they won

Because SEC schools have 4-5 really high level opponents, a UCF having 4-5 solid opponents, which are the types that make up the rest of the Gator schedule, is not enough

Commentators last night tried to act like Florida didn't belong in the Top 10 at all.

Turns out neither poll dropped Florida and the only change in the top 10 was Utah switching spots with Michigan.

Do you really think Florida is a top ten team? Serious question.

What I heard was more "UF isn't playing like a top 10 team" on the season as a whole. I agree - 9 games to play to find out if we stay there.

While the incessant begging for attaboys for being better than Florida for two seasons now get insufferable, let alone the premature placing themselves in the same breath as the three time relatively recent national champion Gators or five time Alabama or two time LSU or even Auburn Georgia recruiting champion Bulldogs, a serious answer is

Florida through this point in the season has two wins far better than anything Georgia has as of yet. Should UGA beat Notre Dame that would be good but at the same time Florida is playing down but still big time athletic Tennessee

So cool your jets and stop begging for everyone to keep telling you how great you are after that 10-3 season of a year ago

Eye test? In spite of those wins FL has not looked great, but finding ways to win is pretty great.

Better question. What will Georgia fans do if Notre Dame wins? I think UGA will win but what if the greatest team ever loses to the Irish? Will they sit back and answer troll questions non stop like they expect the historically dominant Gator alums and fans to do?

Necks

Michigan was definitely the team that hasn't looked like a top 10 team and they dropped them (by 1).

lol what I stated is true on its own and doesn't require any other team.

But yeah, polls this time of year are really inconsistent - it's been that way since polls started.

Yep, not a Top 5 team yet, but a Top 10 until they lose a game.
Because UF finished last season ranked ahead (6) of the mighty choking (8) nuttlickers.
Serious answer... o_O --- Any other questions?

When you and kb851 get done making out and you both stop referring to the past maybe you can try not being such homers. But I doubt it

Uh oh

Someone called out the Georgia troll and he is mad

Snowflake

Loving in the past. Way way way back to, wait for it, 2016

They really, really don’t recognize their place overall

Again, are Florida fans showing their asses on neck boards or is this something unique to them?

Don’t look way back to 2016 but look back to last year instead of this year? Children

Yea. Why not? We are one of a handful of teams who have played two P5 teams so far. Had we played two FCS teams or two P5 cupcakes through the first three weeks like most teams we'd have won all the games 45-0 and everybody would be talking about how great we are and we'd be the exact same team.

Have we looked great? No. But while people are busy killing us talking about how overrated we are they dismiss the fact we've had significant injuries, have made a lot of unforced mistakes, and found a way to win two games away from home when most teams haven't even left their home stadiums yet. Just last night UF was down Henderson (best player on the team and one of the best corners in the country), Burney (starting LB), Zuniga (one of the best ends in the country), Stiner (starting safety), then we lost Franks in the 3rd. We found a way to win with a bunch of key players out and but instead of that being the narrative (like it was with Michigan against Army for example) we get called overrrated and told we were lucky to win. Apparently we're supposed to blow out teams just because circumstances be damned.

And @GwinnettDawg if you really wanna know if I think we finish top 10 the answer is no. My bigger point is though we've been banged up, we've left our home stadium twice, and we haven't lost. A lot of other top teams are just being given the benefit of the doubt because they've blown out a bunch of cupcakes at home. Nobody knows how good many of those teams are either, most haven't left their stadiums or even played anybody who could make it close.

It hurts to know UGA is going to truck beat the brakes off UF for the 3rd year in a row and for the foreseeable future. The big issue for UF is we still run our offense when we put the subs in.

We're all terrified. Hopefully they shut down our poor program to save us the embarrassment.

Let us know when you win a NC again.... 1980 is fast fading into the past.

Let us know when you win 7 years in a row, or 13 and 1 vs UF,. (1990-2003).
In the last 3 decades you've never won more than 3 in a row, and only done that once.

And since 1950 modern (non-leather helmet) era, the Gators have owned your sorry asses. You haven't even won a decade since the 1980's.

Now, back under the porch where the buttsniffers belong, before I roll up a newspaper...

Brian Griese. He was nutting over anything UK. However being impressed by UK...it was not an impressive win for UF to beat UK.

What I saw was half of the BIG??, half of the ACC, most of the PAC10 losing their games. On a week like week 3, just winning is good enough, and that brings up the question, just because you don't LOOK like a top 10 team, if there aren't 10 teams that are better than you out there, do you not deserve to be in the top 10?

Shall we have blanks in the top 10 on those weeks when we believe there are only 5 or 6 teams that deserve to be in the top 10? What about your precious georgia? You certainly didn't look like a top 10 team after your 2nd game when what is essentially a high school team managed to score 17 points on you on your home field and your QB still struggles in 2019 because he has no receivers to throw to. Does that mean that jortgia shouldn't be in the top 10 either?

Just because we aren't blowing everyone away 70-10 like Spurrier used to do doesn't mean we aren't a good team. You only need to win by 1 and good teams win the close battles. It's week 3 going into 4. I don't take the polls all that much more seriously now than I did preseason. Ask me why Michigan is even ranked before you talk about Florida's place. Why is ANY pac10 team in the top 25 for that matter?

Currently UCF is the number 1 football program in Florida

f$u is number 7 behind FAU and FIU.

Go Canes!

UCF would get so much more credit if they weren't in a conference that's so weak it's almost as bad as the Pac10. That's what holds them back from any credibility or national recognition and that's why they'll never win a national championship.

They just don't play a tough enough schedule every year, and it's partly their doing. They think they have arrived even when they haven't. They won't agree to playing one of the power5 teams in the state at our stadium. They expect to trade a home and home with us because they think they are equal. They aren't. FSU, UF, and Miami have enough money, resources, and history that they don't need to seek out competition on it's own home turf. FSU did that years ago when it was trying to build it's program Bobby Bowden had the mantra of playing any team anywhere anytime. They weren't going to win many of them, but that's how they started earning national respect. Not by being a backwater nobody that was insisting the traditional powers had to come to their own little stadium for a game.

If UCF ever wants to improve it's lot in life, it needs to swallow it's pride and agree to play anyone anywhere and not expect that return trip to their stadium. But they refuse to. They cannot accept that they aren't a power5 team or on that level, and that isn't just about who you can beat mind you. It's about your brand name and market identity.
