I have no issue with someone starting legitimate discussions on the status of the current class of commitments. That is what forums are for, and what makes recruiting fun.
I myself am a firm believer in looking at who all has offered a prospect and what their ranking is. Can you strike gold with a kid who has flown under the radar? Absolutely.
The odds are however in the favor of a highly rated prospect turning out at a greater rate than one who 'flies' under the radar.
Having said all that - a couple of things...
* There is still a little over eight months until Signing Day. I would bet not everyone on the commitment list is part of the class.
* Rankings will move up and down. I would be willing to bet a couple of commits get a boost in the next round of updates.
* History suggests that the first full season of recruiting for the UF coach is a very successful season:
