Lawing = New favorite coach!

METS is not thrilled with this as METS prefers a straight forward approach in the business world he works in. That said it's Friday and there is golf, BBQ and a concert on the agenda today so METS is good. (How'd I do, Sad?)

Miami "football". Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha #4 in the state.

I know recruiting is a dirty business, but to me this crossed the line. For adults to tell a kid to lie like that just shows their lack of character. Also, where were his parents in this? They should put their foot down and call out the coach.

Gray, isn't the act of being a "silent" one big lie started by adult coaches all across the country? Again, not my favorite move by a staff member but recruiting is dirty. The parents in this case kept the signing in house apparently so they too could avoid "outside pressure" according to multiple articles I saw. For me it would be pretty easy. "My kid is going to "fill in school name" and that is final."

Would you expect anything different from a FSU coach? They're like the Auburn (outlaw progam) of the ACC and suffer from the little brother syndrome. When you have an outlaw program and mix in the little brother syndrome, shady stuff will go down.

I'm going to keep on preaching cultural change until I'm blue in the face.

We don't need these types around our program anymore.

Glad he is with y'all and not us.

I'll take 9-3, 10-4 type seasons with better character than the 8-5 types seasons we have had with some PUNKS.

UGA HC for 14 years I believe?

"I spent a lot of my life there," Richt said. "My mentor was Bobby Bowden. Just about everything I learned about coaching, handling players and people in general, I learned from him and learned from being at Florida State."

Jax, they are worse than Auburn ever thought they could be, especially when you have teachers allowing cheating, cops allowing rape among other crimes and cars being given away like candy, plus coaches teaching prospects how to lie...it just doesn't get any worse.

GO Canes!

100% agree. We've had more than our fill of prima donna ego trips lately. If the dude was so intent on selling us a bill of goods that he couldn't be straight up, best that he went somewhere else. sadgator won't spend an ounce of time worrying about it. By the time the season starts, sadgator will need to be reminded that the dude even was considering coming to UF.

pretty much how Noles felt about Fowler.

If a kid changes his mind late in the process, that is different. That said, if a UF coach asked him to lie, then I am glad he is no longer at my university (and that may have happened since the offender used to be at UF).

Your coach did this with Fowler. There is a long history of this behavior between the 2 schools.

BS! What coach did this with Fowler? Do you have any facts to back up your claim?

This is different than just a kid playing a game. This involved a grown man/adult telling a kid to do this. Like it was mentioned before that Lawing even went as far to tell him to not do it at the school, etc.

Yes recruiting is dirty but this is an all-time low IMO.

Show proof in black and white that anyone on the Gator staff told Fowler to lie to keep the nolies hanging. Mr. Lawing is apparently proud (aka sour grapes) enough to report it.

Fowler said the UF coaches knew about the switch for weeks before the signing day flip, yet, didn't announce it. If you believe the UF coaches didn't encourage that behavior, I have a bridge to sell you. Lawing probably learned this from his time at UF. It's not surprising he goes public with it, seeing as though he was not retained by the new UF staff, and there is probably a little case of sour grapes on this part. But, back to the point, UF and FSU coaches have treated each other disrespectfully for years. Few rival coaching staffs repeatedly display such extreme levels of contempt towards each other. Lawing's comment is a small peek in to what goes on...a very small peek. Sit down with a staff member from either school one day and they will tell you some eye popping things about what they did to the other and what was done to them.

I thought UF wasn't recruiting him because of grades? Hmm. Wasn't that the story a few days ago?
No. That was not the story. The story was/is that he might have some grade problems.

But that is probably too subtle a point for you to comprehend.

Nothing on earth more adorable than a cane fan talking trash about another program's ethics and integrity. I just want to pinch your cheeks!
Only one thing more adorable would be watching a nolie call out any team in the USA with all the crap they sweep under the table. The fact that you want to pinch anyone's cheeks is a testimony to your support of the gay circus and those idiot glitter boys.

GO Canes!

Only thing coach did differently than other schools is he said it publicly. Nobody on the gators staff or anywhere else is going to say jack, because I'm sure there are kids out there that can say the same about them. Coach just needs to keep his damn mouth shut.

This is nothing new for the criminoles it goes back to the days of boobah the snake oil salesman, same tactic...very sad and pathetic.

GO Canes!
Better then having coaches promoting cane football players acting like a bunch of panzies doing a locker room photo shoot

Fowler said - Is he quoted somewhere? Even if he is, there is no requirement for coaches to announce anything. Don't players do that? Isn't that called a "silent"? They could have known, but there is no evidence they told him to "tell the noles whatever they damn want to hear" or anything similar. Fowler may have even wanted to go on all his visits for the fun of it and told the coaches not to say anything. Your coach did a classes thing and then reported it like he just wanted to get back at our staff. Good for him, but it will just make it sweeter when we get our revenge on the field.

I for one am not concerned about one player, you never know for sure how they are going to pan out.
