New Story Staggering Numbers from Florida & Georgia Three Game Series

Just ridiculous at bats against an average at best Georgia pitching staff.
Really thought this team looked better through the lineup with the portal additions.
They’re great against the mediocre teams but so far pretty lousy against tougher teams.

Well I guess find solace in the fact we could be 2-4 and hit that way. Hell if it will go up just 50 points and add some more extra base hits then we should be able to be respectable.

I think we have the talent but doesn't seem like they're playing with a lot of confidence right now.
Really have no idea....I'm no expert.
I hated the series with ugaly for sure.

This team is bottom 5 SEC. No CWS this year and I was expecting them to make it last year, even despite the slow start. This team is not nearly as good. We lost star players to the draft, and lost a lot of elite HS recruits to MLB draft over the last 2 years as well. And we weren’t very successful this past year in the portal to make up for those losses.

You are a baseball guy so pretty sure you know the answer. We are not particularly talented and lack the pitching necessary to overcome mediocrity. Long time high school football and baseball coach which leads me to say that there is less you can do strategically as a baseball coach than any other spo you can't steal first base to get baserunners, can't speed up or slow down the tempo meaning no hurry up or slow down stategy
, and have to pitch effectively or game is over. Most of all you can't make plays or create base hits as a coach. It is a game that you either make plays or fail! You are helpless to create a strategy if players can't make the play.

The arms re talented but young. Right now what I see from a pitching coaches perspective is they’re tentative. They’re not throwing with conviction. They’re not confident in their abilities and they’re wild in the strike zone. They’re not pitching to the edges because they aren’t confident in their abilities at the moment. Mechanically, there is really no explanation. Mechanical issues didn’t cause this much of a disaster. It’s confidence.

You’re going to get hit at this level. Regardless of how good you are. Everyone has an ERA. It’s how you bounce back from that and put it away

Admittedly been doing mainly box score watching thus far minus the Miami series, but we must be terrible. I’d expect at a school like UF you’d give up 10 runs in a game MAYBE 3 times a season, and we’ve already done it 5 times (4 of which were 13+). Don’t feel like looking it up but I’d be surprised if anybody else in the SEC has been this bad.

They haven’t. Just us.

I was at the Sunday game. Another stunning beat down. The Gators were outplayed start to finish. Don't know that they are as good as the preseason hype. Though Sully does have a way of righting the ship.
