Malik Davis looks to be the best RB on the team after week 1. Very impressed with how he looked. Looked like the Malik Davis from his freshmen year pre-knee injury.

2020 Stats: Sorry Paco, but you're off just slightly....
Rushing Attmepts 367 = 43.7%
Passing Attempts 473 = 56.3%
Total Attempts 840
If this plays out like I think it might it will be like the 4th time that Mullen was hard headed and started the more experienced guy just because of that and the backup finally got their chance and then played clearly better than the previous starter. Unless Richardson is really limited in the passing game that we don't know about I have a hard time thinking Richardson won't surpass him.

So it depends on which RB characteristic that you focus in on it seems to me.

I was thrilled at the time when Dabo attempted to flip Malik's commit but failed.
Just like I was thrilled when Perine kept to his commit when Saban tried to flip him.
Both were under-rated as 3-stars imo, and I said so back then.
I also would not brush Wright aside, just because Lingard & Bowman have arrived.
Thank you for pointing this out Paco. Fever also pulls a UGa fan moment and forgets that Trask had some unfortunate injuries that prevented him from winning the reins from Franks.
I still won't forget in 2019 Fever is the one who advocated benching Trask(after the Frank's injury) and rolling with Emory.
Now he is jumping all on this bench Emory train and wanting to find any opening to point out anything negative towards Mullen.
He is always all over the place.

I could care less someone is on an NFL roster due to size and arm strength. Franks just like Driskel played very poorly here.
I am not all over the place and have always said to try someone else when that is the case. Jones doesn't have much time in playing QB but unless Richardson is turnover prone I have a hard time seeing him being a better option after last night. Mullen has shown he is hard headed when it comes to starting a less experienced QB even before Franks.
Its only one game and I could be wrong but I think the Bama game is going to have people asking major questions though if Richardson is thrown in there later in the game after the lines are demoralized it might not give him a good chance to show what he can do.
Also if I wanted Mullen gone now I would be hoping he kept Jones starting over Richardson.

I really do think we might have a true game changer in Richardson. If his passing was at a good level I think we are looking at a Cam Newton type game changer in the future.
It used to be that you never pulled the older guy for the young guy, but Saban did it with Tua and Dabo did it with Lawrence. But Dabo did it mid season (game 6 or so) and Saban did it in game 15. Game 2 is too fast to make such a decision. Let's see how the season plays out a bit before making any hasty rushes to judgement. And don't worry about Bama, we will never win that game. At this point I'm hoping to get past the Bama loss, find out who we are as a team, come together, work our way back into the SEC title game, and beat Bama there.
In two games (OU and FAU) where both played significant snaps Richardson has played with more poise.
I don't think Mullen is stubborn or loyal. I just believe he is going by what he is seeing in practice.
We have another game to go by before Bama rolls into town. Hope we figure it all out.

Care to wager on whether Richardson replaces Jones as the starter this season? If due to injury it won't count.
I will take the side he does replace Jones. We can discuss what to have as the bet.

I agree wholeheartedly. It is EJ's till he fails to produce. The first game was truly his first game as QB1 in his career. Hopefully the first game jitters will lead to a greater jump in game 2. If it does and he , at least, plays adequately in game 3 with Bama, he will remain where he is. AR will play a complementary role until then. If the wheels fall off, I expect to see him sooner.

What if he has a similar game but without the interceptions? That won't get it done against most of the top teams unless our defense was dominating.
Maybe the Bama game will end this discussion but there is a chance the lines are just beat down by the time a change is made and Richardson doesn't fare well. Hopefully Mullen is willing to make a change to see what happens while the game is within 2 scores still.

I was happy to get Jones when Fields chose UGly, then went drama-queen and bailed out to the Schmuckeyes.
I was THRILLED to get Richardson, even before Beck chose UGly over UF, and I was twice as happy afterward. 5-star Beck is a low character schmuck imo, making the buttsniffers the correct place for him to be, and still on the bench....
Dan will continue to whisper to his QB's, and start and play those that need to be in the games. I don't care in what order they play. If both play, then starter is a reward for practice play, and that's fine with me.
