When I first singed up with sling many moons ago I could get the orange package with SEC for $25.

Now its going to cost $46. You know ESPN is driving the cost of this up. They are the biggest turd in the sports punch bowl. I hate them. I believe every school except Vandy is a state run school. So I would support legislation to force ESPN to offer the games on a local affiliate or something to bust up the monopoly.

At some point I will just go to a local bar and watch it while getting a drink and appetizer.

Weird. I stream at one house and the other I have a medium priced cable package. Both SEC Network channels are included in the cable package. My total price for ALL the channels I get there is only 55 bucks including taxes.

The Espn TV deal is the reason OU and texas are headed to the conference. You break that up and the SEC will quickly struggle to maintain the current revenue structure (which you're personally paying for).

So suck it up you dog-faced pony soldier.

Comcast pricing is all over the place but they offer internet for $56 @ 50Mbs.

I have a local internet provider and that cost 50/month. Comcast was charging me 73/mo for their cheapest internet @ 30Mbs. They changed their pricing scheme after the local provider came in. I could get it all for $70 for 1 year and then 80 in year 2 and then normal price is 146.

United's current intro package is 39.99 for 300Mbs with 2 year commitment. My offer was 49.99 for 1Gbs for one year no commitment. I will see if I can get the 39.99 for 2 when my one is up otherwise I can keep the 49.99 but drop to 300 with no commitments.

If it was just me I would cancel all of it except Netflix and go to the library for internet. Netflix will let you download a lot of content for offline viewing. Hoopla is free from the library and there is tons of old TV shows I still like to watch on OTA.

I didn't even think about that until you just said it.

"We're full. No more room at the inn." No vacancy. 😡

Nobody is forcing anyone to buy anything, but the phrase penny wise pound foolish comes to mind here.

I have been saying this for decades...why in the blue blazes does the sec agree to their demands? They (sec) hold all the power and each university should be able to air their own network through all of the options available. espn could allow regional broadcasts (especially if the main secn channel is committed to softball or gymnastics)

Why do you think conference payouts have increased so much over the last 20 years? ESPN has to pay the SEC a king’s ransom to convince them to keep wearing the golden handcuffs.

I think they see the handwriting on the wall and are getting ahead of it. GSAT's Starlink is coming soon. Cable hard wire or universal Wifi? I think we all know how this is going to end. What am I afraid of? Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Hard wire.

Hard wire.
Sorry that I wasn't clear, new technology is right around the corner. Satellite Wi-fi is going to make optic fiber cable lines obsolete. Comcast is going to find themselves in a pickle, all of that infrastructure investment they made becoming a dinosaur overnight. If they don't get on the sat wagon, their days are numbered. Hard wiring is the most reliable but it is also the most expensive to implement and maintain. My fear is that just like everything else, once we all go satellite, prices will go up. Thus my comment, pricing is a never ending game. The sad part of all of this is that the programming content just keeps getting worse.
What's the last really good movie you can remember? They are far and few between.

Too many movies these days are dumb superhero flicks, but scripted television has never been better.
