My summary of the weekend? Not too shabby. Franks didn't turn the ball over 4 freaking times this week at least like against Miami. He actually played decent enough (other than the incredibly slow start where he couldn't do a damn thing for the first 20 minutes) that Dan Mullen FINALLY put in Kyle Trask and Emory Jones. The stadium went nuts when they went in the game so it's quite clear that the fan base isn't too pleased with Franks's Me Against the World and Especially My Own Fans antics.

Around the rest of the country. Tennessee continues to be the gift that just keeps giving. Michigan proved YET AGAIN that they have no business being ranked at all. Missouri somehow played it's best game in 20 years after losing to freaking WYO last week. WYO lost this week so go figure. So did GA State for that matter. FSU takes it to overtime to squeak out a win against mighty whoever the hell they were playing. NEBRASKA loses again to colorado. 4th and Dumb squeaks out a win against whatever the cupcake team jortgia had lined up today was. Tied 7 at halftime from what I heard on the radio on the way home. Pathetic.

Texas A&M should have it's players learn to keep their mouth's shut till they can actually back it up by winning the big games. LSU going to sodomize them in revenge this year.

The bad news of course, Kentucky starting QB hurts his leg and goes out for the rest of the game. Never like to see that but possibly, this might make up for the fact that we just possibly lost our two best freaking players in week 1. Toney and Henderson down in the 1st half and never return to the game. We have no luck at all.

Other than that, not much else important I can think of, or did I miss anything? Just keep winning Gators. If we can get past UK next week, then we should expect to start our season 5-0. At the rate this is going, Tennessee won't even get the 5 wins they managed last year. 0-2 and they haven't even started league play yet? OUCH. They deserve it though.

Georgia State actually won.
Dawgs were winning 42-7 at halftime. Not sure how 63-17 is squeaking out a win.
You did miss NC beat Miami.

Ouch, I just did some math in my head. UT is 0-2 without even starting league play. At this rate, it is not a forgone conclusion to state definitively that they WILL lose to Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. That puts them at 5 losses on the season. If their goal is to get to a bowl game this year, and that's what I kept hearing after last year, they can only afford to lose 1 other game of all the remaining on their schedule. The best teams on that schedule seem to be, Missouri, Kentucky, and South Carolina. That means, between those 3 SEC teams, all of whom I believe are better than UT, they can only afford to drop one of those games or there is no bowl game yet again for them.

Haven't even played a single SEC game yet, and they are literally statistically not going to get to a bowl game this year. 3 years in a row of no bowl.

As has been stated, the only people in Tennessee who are winning in this situation are Pruitt's kids. Thanks to the stupidly high paycheck he's getting for doing nothing but toss gasoline onto the burning couch, they will never want for money in their lives.

A few things the first 20 minutes Franks didn’t miss a pass. He had a great game regardless of the competing. 92% completion percentage is hard to do against air. And oh yeah Toney is good player but nowhere near one of our 2 best players on the team. I actually like Copeland better.

As for Missouri. West Virginia is a disaster. That want some impressive win for Missouri. West Virginia is 0-2 and there is a reason Dana Holgorson left for Houston. He knew exactly how bad West Virginia would be so he got out of town.

FSU stinks

Jimbo Fisher is overrated as a head coach and is never going to reach the expectations that A&M has or be worth the money they paid for him.

I’d like to add that UCLA is 0-2.

Rumor out of Lexington is Wilson may have a torn ACL. Stoops said it didn't look good. Hate for any of these kids to get hurt, they are after all just kids.
I can't stand to see that either. I'm hearing now that Henderson might have only had a high ankle sprain, way better than the torn ACL I was expecting to hear, but even a high ankle sprain means he might not be back until perhaps Georgia, if even then. Never know with ankle sprains. Toney on the other hand sounds far worse with his wrist injury. Don't know if he broke it yet or not, but we just can't get anything right around here. Everyone was looking for this to be Toney's breakout season. He had a rather dead showing against Miami and couldn't even make it to halftime against UTM with less than 10 total yards to show for it today. That's hurtful considering he's the best player we've had since Percy Harvin.

At least I got to see Kyle Trask get a TD today and make some gorgeous passes in a real game. Nice seeing what a real QB who can actually throw on target looks like. He just looks VERY rusty out there in a real game scenario as he's never really been given much opportunity to get playing time. Emory Jones looked good and all, but definitely looks like a drop off from the starting 2 guys. You can definitely tell he still looks like a Freshman.

Franks didn't miss a pass you are correct. The problem was, none of his passes were beyond the line of scrimmage. Every single one of them was some dink bubble screen that was 5 yards behind the LOS, or a dump off to the RB. NOTHING downfield until the TD pass to wide open Van Jefferson in the 2nd quarter. People around me in the stands were practically livid with how anemic the passing was up until that one throw.

The running game now after week 2 is giving me more concern yet again. These Olinemen are protecting the QB well enough, but they arent opening up any running lanes or holes. Our offense lately has been predicated on the running game opening up the passing game. What happens when we go up against real SEC defenses this year?

Agreed he didn’t go down the field but doesn’t change the fact he didn’t miss a pass. That is hard to do against air.

Franks just finished with the highest completion percentage in a game in UF history

Franks, to me, had the most complete game of his career. He was solid in all phases. The O-line is still an issue. The defense was really good again and a lot of players got to see action. Very impressed with Bogle, Copeland and Elam.

Uh what? Almost all his completions in the first half were long bombs. It's very obvious you don't like the dude and it's clouding your judgement. How anybody can complain about Franks after last night is beyond me. He completed 93% of his passes on 27 attempts. And yea it's UT Martin but I'm pretty sure we've played FCS teams before and none of our other great QB's were able to do that with much better teams around them. Give credit where it's due or you just come off like an irrational hater.

Yeah, I have to question this as well. No way for best. Most electric could be an argument, but that would be more of an indictment of our recruiting between Harvin and Toney than an affirmation of Toney. Also Chris Rainey was there one year after Harvin, and I would put him ahead of Toney.

To be fair to Toney, I don't think he is being used properly. Harvin used to get lined up all over the field, so teams couldn't key on him. Toney seems to only have 2-3 plays designed for him, and teams know what they are and are ready for them when he is in the game. Hell, have him line up at RB and run a wheel route. What LB will be able to cover him?

Franks had a great game - people are only looking for confirmation bias at this point.

Florida fans have always picked one player in multiple sports throughout their career and rode the piss out of them as a scape goat for any flaws. Granted some were deserved but many times some are stretched to the max.

Felipe Franks damn near threw for 100 percent. Ran effectively when needed, had 0 fumbles and 0 picks. Threw deep passes, threw to the safety valve, threw medium range passes and he is still critiqued to the fullest. Not a darn mention of Kyle Pitts tripping on his own feet with 20 yards of green in front of him or a dropped pass in the endzone. It's Franks fault Pitts was tackled by air or the fault Franks threaded a needle and made the pass too easy to catch in the endzone.

It's Doug Johnson's fault...it's Patric Young's fault...it's Keyvaughn Allen's fault...it's Kasey Hill s fault. It's Molondos fault...hell it was Dan Wagner's fault we didn't score 60 points last night. I say Cody Dent is to blame.

Franks is who he is. He's not quite quick enough on his reads, he's not quite as accurate as you might like, he could be a bit better runner, he sometimes stares down his receiver.

But he's not actually BAD at any of those things. Overall he's a solid B+ as a QB. Gator fans just want an A+, and from the preseason comments from Mullen we thought maybe Franks was getting to that point. We now know he is not and will not, and some are disappointed. Maybe this Richardson kid coming in can be that guy. If so, then the future will be bright. But that doesn't help us now. We look at a really good defense and a really good WR & RB corps and think with an A+ QB we could win it all. It's a bit frustrating to be so close yet so far.

Toney is the best player we have had since Harvin? Really?
The kid has potential to break a fantastic play at any moment...but he isn't nowhere near the best WR...nor the best RB...and already proven he would be at best the 4th string QB.

Harvin was the best WR on a loaded roster. Probably could have been the best RB if they wanted to use him there full-time. Could have been a.jekk of a wildcat QB but we already had a running QB. Could have been an all conference returner but we already had that in Brandon James. He could have even played DB and been good but we already had great talent there.

I love Toney but he isn't even the all around player Demps or Rainey were.

Ha. You really want to believe that about Georgia, doncha sport? It was 42-7 at the half and 63-17 final. See ya soon.

Very few teams have A+ QB's, most don't even have B's. The only A+ QB in college football right now is Trevor Lawrence. Maybe you put Tua up there but he's horrible against top 25 defenses and this is with a loaded roster around him. Our fans are just delusional, we weren't winning a championship this year regardless of who was at QB. But people can't accept that and would rather blame the QB who they feel is keeping us from winning it all.

Think about this defense, this WR corps and Tebow at QB. Do you think we would have a shot at a title?

Tebow was a generational QB. They don't come along every day. I get that. And we don't have that. But can you honestly say that this team with Tebow wouldn't be title contender? And that's what Florida fans want. Is that delusional? We've had it before, so it's not like it can't happen again. It just isn't going to.

No. Talent wise our 2007 team was better than this one top to bottom...we lost 4 games. Our 09' team was more talented than this one top to bottom also, we didn't even win the SEC. Franks isn't holding this team back from winning a title.

Our fans severely overrate a lot of the talent on this team. For example I love our receivers, but they aren't even top 2 in our conference. Bama and LSU receivers are far better and teams like A&M are on par. Our oline has played fairly well also considering they're still growing with what they replaced but they aren't championship caliber either. Defensively our safeties are really poor and while our corners are very good, the depth is really young. Those are just some examples. We're a 10 win ish team who could win more if things break right. Enjoy the build.

I was at the game as well and I don’t recall the stadium going nuts when DM put Trask or Jones in. By the time they came in it simply mop up duty.
Yes it was garbage time, although it was only halfway through the 3rd. Game was won and we all know it but the crowd definitely cheered when Emory Jones first went out and then when we saw Trask as well.

Compared to most of the way through the 1st quarter where the crowd was practically falling asleep.

FYI - Franks didn't have 4 TOs against Miami...hth
Go back and watch the post game on SEC network of that game. Danny Wuerfell and Chris Doering both agreed that all 4 turnovers were on Franks. They are professionals at this, I am just a spectator. I will take their word over just about anyone's.

Oline and safety are the weakest links. If you recall I said it preseason that I think safety is a bigger concern then the Oline. We have 1 decent/good safety on the entire roster in Shawn Davis.

LOL. The pitch that hit Davis right in his hands was Franks fault? When was Danny Wuerrfel on the SEC Network commenting about Franks and his TOs? Are you just making stuff up?

Miami is awful this year. No other way around it.
Quite true. My biggest expectation after the way they played us in week 0 is that the canes would most likely run rampant through the ACC and have a breakout year. I expected them to be ranked by midseason at least. They are playing good, and give UNC credit as they knocked off Muschamp last week as well, but good teams win close games, not lose them. We are more of a project than we expected and many Gator fans did want to see the sunny aspect of our win against UM 2 weeks ago.

At the end of the day, no matter what can be said of both teams though, to look at our history with them, they have some freakish ability to ALWAYS play us tough. Even Urban Meyer was only able to hang 26 points on them I believe during a national championship season, and that game was AT home for us in The Swamp.

Facts don't lie and after 2 weeks of football now, they are not looking like they're going to be a quality win on our schedule at the end of it all. We did improve mightily after 2 weeks off though. Still very happy of the protection that this line is giving the QB, just not the running game. We were hoping Lamical Perine would get a 1000 yard rushing season, and he barely has 100 yards after 2 games now. This isn't is a real concern.

Agree with this. Our D line is deep and talented, but thin in the other defensive areas. Offensively we will need the line to continue to develop. We will need some breaks to get to 10 wins, but doing so would be a good follow up to last season.

If you watched the game live on TV, there was the ESPN telecast of it, then the ACC network had their telecast of it where Mark Richt was commentating with the ACC network folks, and the SEC Network also had it's telecast where Danny Wuerfell was the guest next to Chris Doering. Sorry I guess saying it was the post game or anything is incorrect, it was the live game telecast.

It wasn't 7-7 st the half, as we all know. It was 7-7 at the end of the 1st Quarter. Chill.
Maybe you should direct that at grommit. He pretty much demonstrated in one post that he doesn’t understand anything about his own team, much less what others are doing.

Did you see me slightly attempt to placate you? Do you know how much that goes against my grain? As for grommit, others are talking to him. I don't need to add my 2 cents.

Even if Miami is not good this year it is still a good win when you beat a rival!
