SEC taking over ACC in............basketball

During the 1990's, college football started resembling professional wrestling. This was largely led by the three thug programs in the state of Florida.

All kind of fights, crazy and excessive celebrations, showboating all over the field, and taunting the opposing teams.

Nothing was done by the individual schools to clean this mess up as long as they continued to win. Finally the NCAA stepped in and passed a series of rules to clean it up:

15 yard penalties for excessive celebration, taunting, and showboating

15 yard penalty for any player who voluntarily took off their helmet on the field. Many players did this before their showboating, excessive celebrations, or taunting

Players involved in fighting were ejected and also suspended for the first half of the next game.

Anybody who followed college football at the time knew many of these new rules were aimed dieectly at the three thug programs in the state of Florida. The three biggest thug programs in all of college football

If you want to know how irrelevant Florida basketball is just look at this Micheal Avenatti stuff He is trying to expose Nike as cheaters but seems like he is starting out with the important Nike basketball schools like Duke and North Carolina first. Might be a while before he gets down to Florida
