SEC East Championship rings

Yeah FSU made "state championship" rings last year LOLOLOL I had never been more embarrassed in my life. Its shameful the "its okay to lose" mentality that we are putting in our kids heads these days.
Winning the East is a big deal. It is the primary objective goal that should be set each season. And in most years, given the traditional level of competition, it is a tremendous accomplishment. sadgator has no problem with recognizing the East "Championship" as a goal reached.
However, awarding rings for it seems to devalue the ultimate objective goal, which is to actually win the conference championship. If we are actually awarding rings for winning the East, it is a bit sad and shameful.
Its a goal but not that big of a deal when the rest of the East has been down so much and you don't actually win a true conference championship at the end. The East hasn't been crap for the last 4 or so years though Missouri was ranked pretty high going into the SECCG in 2013.
Ridiculous.....basically a ring for losing the SECCG
This is actually a good threshold test for whether rings should go out: whether your fans would wear the t shirt. I can't see myself rocking a division champion t shirt.
This could also be considered a bowl championship ring. And it just says SEC East Champions at the top.. Could go either way.. But to me it looks like a bowl championship ring that just has the best accomplishment of the season on the face of it.

Its clearly an SEC east championship ring with the accomplishment of the bowl game on the side. They should of done it the other way around so its not so embarrassing.....but we did have state championship rings for fsu made last year sooooo....
Winning your conference division is a thing....I have no problem with it.
A "PARTICIPATION TROPHY" would be if Mizzou got rings.

UGA was #3 and one play away from the National Championship game in 2012.
Still, I don't care for east rings.
People were making fun of this on Warchant, so was curious to read yalls thoughts, especially given the flak FSU has gotten for its rings.
As I said over there, I don't have a problem with either school doing it. For one, winning the division and the Outback bowl is an accomplishment. Two, these players made a lot of money for their school and many others while getting very little in return. I have no problem with players getting as much swag as you can legally give them.
For some players, being a part of the gator football team will be the fondest time of their life. Goals were achieved. Why not have a momento made for that achievement and time, especially for the seniors. Everyone knows it's not a national championship ring.

Dont feel like im owed anything. I joke about being more intelligent. I really do have a math degree and engineering degree and i really do have a mom who died when i was 13. I have never been given anything to me in my entire life. I have busted my a$$ my entire life for what i have just like anyone who has anything knows they do. Its 11:15 and im STILL at the office and plan to be here till 2 or so for a project that is due next month that i finish tonight. There is ZERO substitute for hard work.
Im sure many have dead parents/family members/ people they care about but you 100% wont see me making fun of them for it. Not even a piece of crap human being would stoop that low and actually mean it. If they did i would have no problem giving them the death penalty because that is what some low life like that deserves.
I know i have a strong personality, most people hate me or love me and there really is no in between. Im cool with that. I understand it. I dont come on here to make life long friends. I already have those. I enjoy discussing football, Gators, Noles, Canes, San diego state it doesnt matter. However, i will always seperate my message board self from my own moral values and core as a human being.
Education is my biggest pet peeve in America. I feel most are not educated enough. Even myself i am always looking for more education.

I don't really care for division title rings but here is some defense.
There are 50 states. There are much fewer division 1 power 5 divisions.I mean if Utah made rings for winning a division of the PAC 12 wouldn't be a big deal vs making rings if they beat BYU and Utah State. It's easier to win the state vs winning a division. That's all I can really say.
