It is with profound sadness that I tell you my “Best Friend” passed away this week. He was my best friend, my golf partner, my father figure, and my Gator loving comrade! Boy, he really loved the Gators! When he realized the seriousness of his illness, he would always say to me that he just wanted to see the Gators return to championship form before he got “called home”. Now I know he was referring mainly to the football team, but let me tell you, this basketball championship brought him an extreme amount of joy! His “Going Home” ceremony is on 30MAY25. It’s being held up, so the family can make sure everyone can attend. I would love to see him buried with an autographed UF jersey from this championship team. Does anyone know who I can reach out to in the Athletic Department for help. I know it might not be possible, but at least, for my friend, I can ask.😞
