Some small questions remain unanswered during Fall practice, but should be sorted out by Aug. 24th.
Polite and Jefferson have been replaced by Louisville transfer Jonathan Greenard, Jeremiah Moon and true freshmen Mohamoud Diabate and Khris Bogle.

Senior DT Adam Shuler doesn’t seem the slightest bit concerned about how the Gators are going to replace Jachai Polite and Cece Jefferson at the buck end position. “I’m 100-percent confident in the bucks and players we have coming in this year,” he said. “America says that we lost talent. I say we gained talent.”

It will be more of the same this season, Jonathan Greenard said. “They never know what you’re going to do,” he said. “You could rush, you could drop or hit the B-gap. You’re all over the place. That position requires a very smart guy. You know, athletic guys, which we have."

It's good to hear that Adam and Jon agree with the iG... :D

Is it going to be a big deal that the OL depth is young guys (Fr & rsFr) instead of old seasoned veterans? Not to senior starting center Nick Buchanan, as the 5 true Fr are winning him over in preseason camp. (6th OL W.Wilson still waiting on Green card).

“All the young guys, they are all leaps and bounds ahead of where typical freshmen coming in should be,” Buchanan said. “They go out there and compete every day in practice. They are watching film, learning playbooks and stuff like that. They are actually learning football, learning offense, learning the scheme. They have been working out with and learning from coach Savage and the nutrition staff. So, I have to give kudos to all of them.” Four of the 6 tFr are early enrollees that have already been here since last Jan (8 months ago). So at this point, those 4 EE's are not raw incoming Fr anymore... C/OG Kingsley Eguakun and OG Ethan White — have been running with the #2 offense, which means they could get in the playing rotation for the opener. (This morning, Monday, White worked with the 1's) The overall OL group worked overtime this summer, bonding and trying to get better, Buchanan said. And now in Fall practice, the entire OL are in the very capable hands of veteran OL coach John Hevesy, who is also a Co-OC with Co-OC/WR's coach BillyG. In case no one has realized, this is a huge advantage for rsJr QB Franks.

On the Gator offense, the likely starters are all 4-5th year players, including the OL....

Yeah, tough break for him and for the Gators.
But like DT Andrew Ivie just did, he can still get his UF degree(s).

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida offensive lineman Noah Banks is officially hanging up the cleats after attempting to make a comeback during fall camp.

Banks had been sidelined for months due to an epileptic episode he suffered in bowl practices leading up to the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl in December and did not rejoin the team in practices until fall camp. According to a post he made on Instagram, Banks suffered another minor episode this week in practice, causing him to re-evaluate his future in football.

Norman attrition so far imo.
We all knew going in that OL & DB's were still going to be shallow in depth.
Not insurmountable so far, will plenty on the roster that can step up and fill the vacated holes.

That’s awful. I wish him long healthy life.

Yep. I don't mind seeing a rival player get his bell rung and miss our game, but I never like to see guys really hurt or have other serious medical problem, even on the most hated rival teams....
