I am going to be very optimistic and think we will go 10-2 if Richardson stays healthy. A lot of teams in there capable of giving us a loss though besides Georgia and A&M. @ Tennessee, LSU and @ FSU are all possible losses however and wouldn't be big upsets probably. LSU will probably have a crappy record and then show up to play against us. Kentucky may prove me wrong but I am not that worried about the game right now unless they have some new O linemen stepping in to play Saturday.

SEC East:

1. Georgia
2. Florida
3. Tennessee
4. Kentucky
5. South Carolina
6. Missouri
7. Vandy

SEC West:

1. Bama
2. Texas A&M
3. Miss State
4. Arkansas
5. Ole Miss
6. LSU
7. Auburn

New predictions for the SEC. I switched Tennessee over Kentucky and switched Miss State over Arkansas and Ole Miss from what I thought pre-season.

I think Georgia & Texas A & M are the only probable losses. I see Kentucky, Tennessee, LSU and FSU as toss-ups. Split the difference in those games and I guess 8-4. Utah exposed our defensive vulnerabilities and we have no proven kicker to make a 3 in a close game. This week's game is HUGE, IMO, in determining whether or not this season will be good, very good or excellent.

Yep a KY win probably means at least a good 8-4 type season while a TN win on top of that and we could have a 9-3 or better really good turnaround season.

I had us going 7-5 or 8-4 before the season started. After the win against Utah I’m going 8-4 now but there are some holes on the team. Obviously if AR gets hurt then my prediction is no longer valid.

I said 8-4 or 9-3 depending on how it plays but, it's AR. If he stays healthy? Hell we could win 10 games. If he goes down? Probably lucky to get 6 wins.

And that's why predictions for this Gator season are so difficult. Yeah, anytime your starting QB goes down that's probably going to be a big issue, but this team is very much in transition and without his playmaking ability? The door swings either way far too much.

If AR stays healthy I'm saying 9-3. I think we lose to A&M, the Pups, and someone else gets us...but we pull another one out that everyone thinks we'll drop.

With so little depth, I could see us faltering badly at the end of the year. I know we talk about the catastrophe of an AR15 injury, and everything we said was true, but losing 2 DT's would have basically the same effect. Thinner than paper.

A lot of freshmen (and transfers) are going to start or get very significant playing time next year.

I do think UF will drop a game between UK or UT. I can't say too much specifically because UT has only played a creampuff thus far.

That being said, many people thought that UF would have at least 2 losses before the bye week. If UF does drop a game between UK and UT, and wins the rest before the bye week, it should considered a massive success.

I'm going to hope for 9-3...but expect 8-4

Given what has transpired this past weekend, I like this prediction. Would be nice to split between UGA and TAMU. Meanwhile, the rest of the schedule is very doable as LSU is a train wreck, Kentucky being less than impressive, and FSU being the same.

Sticking to 8-4 reg season with a bowl win.
TJ,

Like your thoughts; one game (Utah) doesn't make our season.

As long as we win one between KY & Tenn.

TAMU (at College Park - again !) & UGA tough teams.

Plus starting with UGA, we play 5 games in a row. Depth on Defense questionable. Concerns about AR & injuries.

After UGA & TAMU don't know what shape we will be in for S Car.

Don't know what to make of LSU & FSU - too early.

Would love to play the Canes in the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville.

Hopefully, our travel costs low enough for us to actually make a little money.

Are you insane? The only thing that would suck worse than that would be playing UCF in the pirate bowl again….ssh
Sad,
Don't know about you, but after the KY debacle, I would take 7-5 & a gator Bowl birth - against anybody - in a heart beat.

You & a few others (hope I did as well) kept a level head about our chances this season, but KY exposed some flaws in our HC & our QB.

Lets see how the rest of the season plays out.

I will have to change the title and see what people think now...lol...

What is crazy now is A&M looks like a really beatable team but so do we. The Tenn game still looms large as it will probably tell us win or lose if AR can turn his passing game around. 7-5 is a real possibility now. LSU and A&M have major issues but I do wonder if A&M could right the ship some by simply going to the backup QB. Their starter is really wreckless trying to complete passes. I just hope we can get things in order enough to beat FSU at least.

Fever,

Re-read you post - after the Utah game - about pick our season record - but didn't have the heart to say anything. LOL

After the learning experience Mark Stoops & KY were kind enough to give us, most of us on this board, including Napier & Richardson I'm sure, feeling a little stuuuupid right now.

I'm still mildly optomistic, so I'll say 2 down & 11 games to go !

I'm sticking with 8-4. Only team we can't line up with is GA. This will be a nail biting season as several of our games are going to be close. UT, LSU, AM, SC,FSU toss ups....Mizzou, Vandy, EWU, USF should win, GA loss.

Remember it is never as good as it seems (Utah) and never as bad as it seems (UK). It is typically somewhere in the middle. I’m not surprised we are 1-1. I just had it the other way around. I had us losing to Utah and beating UK.
This.

sadgator’s never understood why folks are so concerned about records or crappy bowls…

Every week is a reset in this sport. Every next game builds on the lessons and growth a team has from the week that preceded it.

Nobody knows how Florida will react to this. They are talented and good enough to do some real damage to teams on their schedule…

This will either galvanize and strengthen them or tear them apart…the fun in the season is watching it play out…

sadgator thinks Napier will get them right…adversity plays to his strengths…

Sad,

Extra practice time for a bowl game; last year it was worthless; this year it will be a positive.

Experience for next year's starters; both LBs gome, etc.

Something to remember - even the best coaches out there can struggle year 1. Recruiting has to be the focus as we develop the team.

Saban was like 6-6 his first year - and Kirby lost to Vandy with a loaded roster year one. We'll watch a lot of bad football this year but that was kind of expected.

4-8 is a real possibility.

I could have envisioned 5-7 with a loss to USF
Fever,

Shane Matthews had the perfect quote on the post game radio show - "WE ESCAPED !"

Tenn may be "over rated" but Richardson at Rocky Top in front of a sold out Neyland Stadium (official capacity 101,915) scares me.

If/when Richardson tanks mentally at Tenn, Napier needs to have someone else ready to go at QB !

Insta

who do you suggest at QB ?

I look at USF's other games and I really think they were maybe the second worst team on our schedule, after Eastern Washington. Mizzou and USC-E may not be Kentucky, but they are certainly as good as USF.

Hell man, we haven't even played a road game yet. Things could get really really bad.
