I don't see much distinction between the two main candidates on the issues themselves.
I want the guy who will correct the Country...like EXACTLY what happened after Hussein ruined everything. I HOPE others feel the same way. Those two people in my order are
1. Donald J Trump
2. Ron DeSantis
One thing is 100% true. NO ONE can, or will explain to us what is better in America TODAY, than it was under Trump. THIS IS HOW I base my decision who to vote for. Economy SUCKS now. Military is and looks weaker. Consumer confidence is horrible. Inflation is rampant. Interest rates are SKY HIGH.
That last sentence is going to bring rain on this board.
I'm counting on that as it relates to "the issues." Is it possible that we are wrong? Absolutely. Is it possible that the DeSantis detractors are wrong about him...almost certainly imho.
I see DeSantis as a more disciplined and polished version of Trump. I admit that sometimes Trump used that shock value, that lack of decorum, to his advantage. But it also has worked to his disadvantage.
Hard to imagine republican voters thinking beating Biden is not the #1 task.
The result could be pro-Trump people wanting to say they're all about policies but knowing subconsciously that he may not win.

Like I said they’re the shrill ones in the front row of the auditorium who won’t turn around and see that the crowd has drifted out of the room and moved on.
I think its why Trump will hold DeSantis off. He pounced early to put Desantis Congressional record out there where he was voting and saying things against the thinking of the modern Rep base. What has come out with DeSantis speaking with people on tape back then is your classic Bush Republican and he voted for Obama to be able to do that crooked Pacific trade deal and the dummy thinking it would help in FL in 2018 (which maybe it did) even co-sponsored a bill to allow Puerto Rico to become a state. He wont be able to hide from that stuff in the primary just because he did the Disney stunt that changed nothing and bussed some illegals up north..
He could also play it that he's learned the error of his ways with some of those early moves and lean in hard to placate the GOP base ...

Maybe a few but I doubt it would get too many. The one thing he can do is get some of the anti-Trump crowd to rally around him early thinking the only chance to stop Trump is to jump on board with him.
If I was his team once Trump started attacking him at his speeches I would have hit back throwing anything out there where you could argue Trump was jumping in bed with the establishment himself. This strategy of acting like you are above the fray until you announce was a very naive strategy imo and I agree with the donors that said off the record in that article that DeSantis was messing up letting Trump firmly establish him as connected to the Bush and Paul Ryan crowd. Paul Ryan and Bush did him no favors praising him on Fox News either.

Except Desantis is smarter than Trump and better able to pick his battles. Both are equally right wing but even though Desantis is rough around the edges he is not as abrasive or condescending as Sir Donald. Trump hardly ever smiles, just gives his scowling smirk.

Its like that in MD also. For a Repub to win in MD, they need to be a moderate at best, and hope the dem voters are angry with the Dems. BUT more voted for the the Trump candidate than the Hogan candidate in the primary and the Trump candidate didn't have a chance. Mind you, MD is a vast majority Dem State. Now are Dem Gov wants to turn us into the next CA, because they are such a bastion of greatness. Just came out with plans to do make MD all electric cars by 2035.

Defeating evil is important, but how long have we compromised our values by "holding our noses" and voting for the lessor of two evils? I don't think that can be said since Reagan and lord knows he wasn't perfect either. We need a leader who doesn't GAF what the polls say are politically expedient and appease the malcontents.

DeSantis has TONS of capabilities....yet has not done any mid east peace deals, re arraigned NATO spending, brought remains home from N Korea, killed one of the worlds worst terrorists, moved the embassy to Jerusalem, or won a Presidential election from OUTSIDE of Washington. Best I know he is NOT a multi billionaire either. He is a BRILLIANT man...but so is Trump. I welcome you to debate me on any of this!
