Our chicks with sticks are playing one hell of a game...

Knowing she would be the #3 pitcher for this year's team, Ocasio asked for more PT in the regular lineup and was very valuable in RF, at 3B, at the plate and on the mound this year. She's a proven All American pitcher and will be counted on heavily next year. I think Walton did the right thing starting her. Oklahoma simply had the better hitting team. Our girls fought, but just could not beat them. They beat our #1 pitching staff so hats off to them. Both teams have a ton of talent coming back next year. We have a great recruiting class coming in and it wouldn't surprise me if we meet them again in the finals next year. The Gators had not lost a game all year when we score 3+ runs and had only 1 loss when we scored 2. We scored 9 runs in 2 games against the Sooners and lost both. So they deserve all the credit. Our team deserves no condemnation or criticism. They won the SEC for the 3rd year in a row & are National runners-up. Congrats to both teams and Go Gators!!!

I think Walton, his staff and these players need this humble pie!!! I've said it 2 years sgo that UF needs to play more of their pitchers all year not just one. It caught up with them... Ocasio hasn't pitched much this year and I believe this is the wrong philosophy.

Congrats to UF on a great season and congrats to OU!!!
We used 2 pitchers routinely and Ocasio was 8-1 as #3. Unfortunaltely we had to use both of our top 2 pitchers for the 17 innings last night, one of them being the NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE YEAR!!!. She had given up only 9 earned runs all year prior to the WCWS and she gave up 5 earned runs last night. Give Oklahoma credit for making the adjustments against both Barnhill & Gourley and doing enough to win both games. Our batting lineup is not as formidable as theirs, but battled and gave it all we could. Just came up short. No criticism of the Gators from this quadrant of the galaxy. Just props to Oklahoma, their coaching staff and their players.
