OSU Back-Up Jack Miller offered

I liked and still do like AR, but his reading the D and throwing to the open guy must improve, including his overall passing accuracy. If not, then post spring he can join EJ.

Kitna at 6-4 210 and still growing can and has run in HS occasionally.
He needs improvement in getting rid of the ball instead of taking a sack.
Yes, he's primarily a passer, but he does have size and some ability to run it.

Del Rio-Wilson 6-2 225 has the size to run it more, and he can throw it.

Jalen-PP and Carlos-DT came from very different offenses in HS.
Spring should sort those two out, depending on what Napier wants to do.

Keeping in mind that if you're going dual threat, then you'd better have 1-2 backups that are ready to go the minute an injury occurs to the starter, or you better have a Tebow tank that's as solid as a granite wall, and even then....

Miller - The final backup if all else fails.
And any QB that's brought in on NSD.

I also have a soft a lot for Kitna's dad. No, he was by no-means the most talented NFL guy but he played smart a lot. Came in and really made things happen when the starting WB would go down. I think he was just limited physically.

If his son has the same mindset but a better talent, he could be really good.

Jon Kitna was the Dallas Cowboys QB Coach, but he left them to be the HS football HC for his son's Sr year.
That produced a passing game QB with Jalen's stats in 10 games:

Passing - 163 of 263 (62.0%) for 2,516 yds, 32 TD's, 3 Ints, L-88, QBR 128.4
Rushing - 45 for 3 yds, 0.1 ypc, 1 TD, L-22

Not a QB run system by any means.
The rushing stats are almost entirely from sacks.

But I could tolerate some lost yardage sacks from a Gator QB that threw 32 TD's to just 3 Ints.... While fixing the sacks and getting a little better QB runs would make him a gold mine.

If Nap wants a QB-PP, then he has 2 choices that can battle it out this Spring.

QB-PP Jack Miller 6-3 215 -- AZ
HS 7 Gms - 1,621 yds, 59.1%, 15 TD's, 4 Ints, QBR 103.6
(limited use tOSU - 7 of 14, 50%)

QB-PP Jalen Kitna 6-4 210 -- TX
HS 10 Gms - 2,516 yds, 62.0%, 32 TD's, 3 Ints, QBR 128.4
(UF - No Stats)

Firmly believe if AR gets hurt then Miller will be our QB of the future pocket passing

So you're saying that both Kitna and Del Rio-Wilson should just go ahead and xfer out???
And what is your firm belief based on?

Watch him truck the defender at 1:15 mark

The new coach is going to evaluate and play the guys he thinks fit best into his system. I don't think anybody knows how it's going to play out at this point. I do know that Miller had personal struggles at Ohio State, got beat out by a freshman and slid down the depth chart. But a similar thing happened to Joe Burrow up there and he went to LSU, won a national title and the Heisman.

Been a few days, on the previous page, I forgot, ever happen to you? 😉

~ "I just dont believe Jalen or Carlos will both be there in the next 1-2 years.
~ Jalen wont get much playing time cause he will be the one that gets lost in the shuffle.
~ I dont think Carlos will hang around waiting for his turn cause he could probably get playing time elsewhere.
~ This is just my thinking
but this could all change at spring practice.
~ I think the AR-15 hype could sway Billy's decision but who knows?"

The iG has no real preference on which QB WINS the job for 2022. Any of them would be fine with me if they are the On-The-Field winner by the end of the O&B game.

>>>-----> going by past performances....
I think that Jalen is the best passer.
I think that AR (when/if healthy) is the best runner.
Del Rio-Wilson or Miller might be the best combination dual threats?
I think that we'll all have to just wait to see how they all perform this Spring.

Doubt he is anything like Burrow who people were really after when he transferred but he might be a decent QB.

So Emory is officially gone? A week or so ago, Gainesville news station showed him at spring practice.

It sucks, he was our best player last yr.
I feel bad for the kid. By all accounts he is a very good kid and did things the right way and was a good teammate, etc. I blame the coach who kept throwing him out there and was too loyal to him. Unfortunately for Emory he is a really bad QB and saved his worst for last in his performance in the FSU and UCF games.

AR15 6-4 237 rsSo is the only current roster QB with any real game time.
Passing - 12 Gms, 39 of 66 59%, for 556 Yds, 8.4 Ave/P 7 TD, 6 Ints. QBR 71.2
Rushing - 12 Gms, 58 for 462 Yds, 8.0 ypc, 3 TD's, L-80

Miller 6-3 215 rsSo at tOSU was 7 of 14 passing
Passing - 7 Gms - 7 of 14 50%, 101 Yds, 14.4 Ave/P, 0 TD, 0 Int.
Rushing - 7 Gms - 5 for -1 Yd, -0.2 ypc, L-8 -- In his very limited game time.
(he's likely hoping that nobody sees or remembers those tOSU stats)

Wilson 6-2 228 rsFr - DNP

Kitna 6-4 205 rsFr - DNP - SEC Academic Honor Roll

Engle - 6-0 190 rsJr -- 2019 Walk-On, no stats - 2X SEC Academic Honor Roll
HS - FL 13-2 7A State Champ Runner up at STA.
Sr - Passing - 67%, 9 TD, 0 Int -- Also a 1st Team All Region in Lacrosse.

Anders 6-1 203 rsJr -- 2019 Walk-On, no stats - 2X SEC Academic Honor Roll

As to any ship QB being 'lost in the shuffle',,,, there is no shuffle when the HC is watching them all getting snaps and practicing. And since they are all learning a new offense, no real advantage there, except maybe to the smartest/quickest to pick it up and advance.

“The quarterbacks as a whole, this is a developmental game. It’s important to understand that we do a lot more practicing than we do playing when it comes to football," Napier explained. "This is where you learn. This is where you develop as a player. Regardless of your (game) experience level, this is where you get your first experience. I think this is where you get the most experience as a football player."
==========

Max Brown 6-3 200 Fr - HS Sr, Summer Arrival
Passing - 14 Gms, 167 of 235 71%, 2,750 Yds, 16.5 Ave/P, 41 TD, 4 Int, QBR 142.6
Rushing - 14 Gms, 173 for 1,343 Yds, 7.8 ypc, 20 TD, 1 LPF.
Tot-Offense - 14 Gms, 410 plays for 4,093 Yds, 10 Yds/Play, 61 TD, 4 Turnovers.
~~ While the dweebs at the recruiting services have him rated as a 3 star...
This kid should be a 5 star at QB and/or at RB imo. (71% is good against AIR)
His TD to Turnover Ratio is a freakin' 15.25 to 1....

IF he can pick up the offense quick enough over the summer, and prove it with reps in Fall practice, then he just might run several of those other QB's outta town. It's a shame that he wasn't an early enrollee,,, jus-damn...

I'm seeing him as maybe the next WAY under-rated Trask type...

100% In life though it's good to find out when you've hit the ceiling or just aren't that good at a particular thing. I like the way he's handled it - should be really successful imo. I like a guy that keeps at it and makes the most of their talent.

He really did seem like a good person/teammate. I remember he posted a story on Instagram or snap about bringing the Gators back and how he hoped he could be a part of it (this was during the coaching search)

Curious to see where Jones ends up and what kind of season he has. I think the best thing for gaining some confidence would be going to a non-power 5 school and the worst option for him would be going to a bottom feeder power 5 school where the defenses will usually have more talent than you.
