As many know, I have Ole Miss friends and relatives with ties to the Ole Miss football program. Here are some reactions from their experience in the Swamp:
From the Ole Miss coaching staff through a friend:
-Very impressed with Will Grier
-UF may have the best defense in the SEC, great tackling team, and "our D-line is sick good"
-We got out coached!!!
-Saturday was a "butt whipping"
-Thinks our WR or very good
-Thinks we will make a run at Atlanta (SEC title game)
-Disappointed in their line play, but they are "out 3 starters right now"
-Thought our O-line play was better than expected
-Comparing Alabama and UF: Bama has a better running game than UF and better O-line. Florida's QB is confident and a "gamer."
They were not in a very happy mood, this is all he had to share
From several Ole Miss friends that made the road trip and attended the game:
-LOUDEST PLACE WE'VE EVER BEEN TOO, AND WE'VE BEEN TO LSU.
-Amazing atmosphere, loved everything about it but the game itself
-Great fans, very friendly, SO DAMN LOUD, "my ears are still ringing"
-Beautiful campus, "y'all got real alligators on campus!!!"
-Loved Gainesville, felt very welcome, partied with lots of Gators.
-Best road experience we've ever had and "I STILL CAN'T HEAR A DAMN THING."
No one had one negative thing to say about our fans or the experience outside of the beat down.
Now my immediate family, many Ole Miss fans and grads, from whom I've heard for 7 years "we beat Tebow, we beat the national champs", lets just say they did not enjoy my face book post of a dead land shark and a picture of that sign that read "you made a big OLE MISSTAKE coming to the Swamp." I'd tell you what they called me, but it would get deleted
. I have a friend in Oxford and he and I are two of the three Gators in that area and lets just say there are a lot of EMBARRASSED AND HUMBLED Ole Miss fans right now that had talked a lot of crap before Saturday.
And for my Vixen Ole Miss Rebel wife, well, she's "happy" for me................hence I'm sleeping with the enemy.
Ok, that's all, Go Gators.
