This is Billy's worst team since he's been here. Man these guys just seem to disappear during long stretches of games. Hopefully we can win enough to make the NIT

It's been a long time since I've been as disgusted watching Gator bball as I have been this year. It's going to be long couple of months.

This is exactly why I don't watch them play on purpose, lol they are so pathetic that even Billy sat down and gave up and took those multiple bum ass busts out the game. I won't watch another second of this team unless Billy kicks about 3/4 of the team off

This is a little harsh. That was a god awful performance, but in my opinion Billy should take some heat for it as well. You've got 3 players who can score. If you start the game with 2 on the bench, then you might go 6 minutes without a basket to start the game, as we did. Then he's got frazier sitting for 9 minutes in the second half when their lead was 10 or 12 the entire time. Frazier hits a couple threes in a row and it's a ballgame. He's obviously trying to send a message because he played all transfers, freshman and walker for the last 10 minutes, but it's not like the guys they had in there were playing particularly smart. Walker was throwing up step back jumpers and robinson tried to dunk standing 8 feet from the basket.

We're not very good and certainly have not played like a tourney team.

Billy Donovan is THE best coach UF has had in any sport. And I understand he knows the personalities and efforts given in practice and in the locker room better than anyone else. But the starting 5 just doesn't make sense. Chris Walker is a liability on both ends of the floor. All the God-given talent in the world can't compensate for his inability to shoot, poor decision-making and his constantly getting beat on defense. Robinson is a nice player and is going to be solid for us down the road, but starting him over Frazier or Carter doesn't make sense. Same with Chiozza or Hill. Both frustrate the heck out us with their turnovers and inconsistent shooting. One of them needs to be on the floor, but both at the same time, I think, hurts the team. I would start Finney-Smith, Frazier, Carter, Kurtz and either Hill or Chiozza. Today's game was pathetic, but the starting lineup just doesn't have any scorers and too many liabilities, IMO. Finney-Smith, Carter & Frazier need to be on the floor as many minutes as possible. The other guys should get minutes depending on how they are playing during the game.

We need a guy like parsons, beal, boynton, Wilbekin who takes the ball late in the shot clock, late in the game and just takes it on them self to make a play. All these guys are complimentary players. I think donovan ' s frustration with frazier is he wants him to be that guy but frazier isn't being assertive enough. The three possessions before frazier got benched, he was just floating around the baseline, not really busting it to get the ball and then he pump faked a three and got a weak layup blocked. Billy went to the bench immediately and frazier didn't play for the next 9 minutes.

Florida McDonalds AA are as useless as NC Army AA. Only one's that have worked out were Patric Young in year 4 and B. Spikes. Billy needs to recruit Chicago and NY.

I think it's worse because there were quite a few people, if I recall, who seemed really optimistic that there wouldn't be much of a drop off this year.

That's what struck me as odd.

They are frustrating. I go to every home game and it's getting harder and harder to make that drive. The first half against Kansas was flat out amazing. I'm thinking, OMG they flipped the switch and the lights came on. But then came the second half. Say what? Same guys? Walker is this amazing athlete who has no idea how to play basketball. Horford makes me want to throw chit at him. Murphy...big disappointment. Hill...good play, bad play, good play, bad play. He's like a hit single with a crummy 'B' side Danny...and he plays the 'B' side too much. Without Finney-Smith and Kurtz this team would have won maybe 4-5 games. What's frustrating is they nearly all are capable of making real nice plays, executing the press and getting TO's and playing pretty heady ball, and then look awful 30 seconds later. The 'tip-in' against FSCW sort of sums up the year. sigh.

The optimism for this year was based on reasonable expectations that hill, frazier and walker would improve, hill and frazier to all-seeing level, and that Billy would get all the newcomers on the same page. Instead, nobody really has taken a step forward and the team has not gelled at all on offense.

I'm disappointed in nearly every poster in this thread. We've been to 3 Elite 8's and a final 4. We had a 24 game conference win streak snapped. Is it a rebuilding year? Yes. Might be a couple of years.

But that is NO EXCUSE for these posts. It's not what I'd call sticking together in all kinds of weather.

Looking at our roster I don't understand not being at least a tournament team and losing to many of the teams that we did who have far less talent (except some early games when shorthanded). On paper this is a Sweet 16 team. I think there must be some attitude problems right now as suggested by Donovan's actions recently.

We're just being realistic Lizard. Given what we lost to graduation I didn't expect much at all from this year's team and they are doing all they can to live up to my expectations. lol. It's not that I don't love 'em. I'm there every game....yelling, wishing, hoping, cussing.

Believe me, I haven't given up. They do play very hard and that's really important in my book. There's still hope.

You'll never see me complain about relaistic discussion of strengths and weaknesses, shortcomings, etc. Neither for projections about seeding being low or missing the tourney entirely.

But when I see "worst team", "disgusting", "pathetic", and so forth, that's when I speak up.

well in reality they play pathetic consistently and have the worst team play I can ever remember watching for a Billy Donovan team..

it's not absurd to get mad at watching them just because the other teams before them have not been awful with a GREAT coach.

Is it not a realistic statement to say this is Billy's worst team during his tenure? Would it be better phrased that this team would rank 19th out of his 19 teams? I am willing to give you the other two, but don't see a problem with the first.

Ok, let's hear your realistic discussion.

We look to be done as far as making the tourney goes. This team looks good on paper but they are sure playing poorly.

He's just saying "pathetic," "disgusted," etc… are out of line, which I agree with. I don't think they're pathetic, they're playing hard, they're just not very good. They got nobody to score. They can't hit free throws, layups or three pointers. And they turn the ball over way too much. Other than that, they're good to go.

I knew this would be a rough year but damn...at 10-8 and still two games against Kentucky, we are in serious trouble.

I jokingly mentioned struggling to make the NIT but if this keeps up, I may not be wrong. This looks like a 15 loss team.

I had a good feeling the team would struggle and certainly not be as good as the last couple of years, but I didn't think they would be this bad.

The talent level is down, but it isn't that bad. It's more of a chemistry thing than anything. These guys have no idea how to play as a team. Also I'm pretty sure most people were expecting improvement and bigger things from Walker and Hill. That is another big issue. Those two didn't make that sophomore leap. At this point I don't think either Hill or Walker sniff an NBA roster. They aren't even close to being ready for the NBA.

Billy D can't sit both Carter and Frazier on the bench to start the game. One of them has to start. Not to mention we don't have one Big man that can do anything offensively. We don't have one big man that can do anything defensively either.
