Since we are playing the Canes and I was watching the news and they are now predicting an slightly above average Hurricane season I thought it can’t happen again for the 4th time in 6 years can it? The forecast for next week looks favorable to play the game but, you never know.

I want to play the Canes and show we are officially back. But, do we see the Felipe Franks who was about to be benched when Kyle Trask broke his foot or the one who played great down the stretch?

Its looking like the activity might be lower than they thought (lowest in 15 years up to this date so far). I think we don't get any games canceled or moved this season.

Frank's is a much better player now. We'll see how he plays soon but I've been impressed with his development last year...even now he seems much more mature going in this year...more measured.

Franks was getting BLASTED by you freebies last year especially when he had his Awful Missouri ( who’ll be tough AGAIN ) game right Sad?

The weather service is predicting a hurricane warning this Saturday but don't worry.
Alligators will chomp down all the hurricanes:)

Honestly my take away from the 2 versions of Franks is that prior to the South Carolina game, the Miss/UGLY/Vandy-near-debacle, he wasn't running the ball. We weren't running the ball in the start of the USC game and then 2nd half, we start having Franks scramble and make huge gains on them. From that point on he opened up his game because defenses had to become honest and realize he will run on them.

That was the difference. I think maybe the fumbles/turnovers he caused against Vandy and then 1st half jortgia made him reluctant to run with the ball there for a while. Mullen doesn't insist that the QB run, he just wants a QB who is WILLING to run and it wasn't till 2nd half of USC that Franks starts toting the rock with authority again. From that moment on, completely different offensively.

No doubt he is a factor in this offense...now other teams have to worry about all 11 players on our side of the ball and they have to cover the entire field. Franks is a good running QB...he's a lot faster than he looks too.

Franks is a work in progress, but Mullen will get the max possible out of him. His potential is much better than he gets credit for. It ain’t gonna be pretty at all times, but the biggest story of our year is going to be how Franks develops.

I hope so. He did at least get him to stop turning the ball over last season and got him running more at the end of the season.

Is it sad that we are talking about how our season is predicated on how well a 3rd year starter is going to 'develop' this year? I sit here and watch other teams throw in a Freshman QB for the season and win a national championship by doing so. Clemson last year and Alabama the year before. Here at Florida we have a 3 year QB starter who is still developing and our season hinges on that... Not that they will ever win a national championship, but what about that child molester Froom at UGLY? He took the starting position away from Jacob Easley as a freshman as well and Easley left the school as a result. Other teams are pulling in these kids who are seemingly ready from the start, yet we have developed a culture where we take 5* players at the QB position and not only fail to develop them, but completely ruin their careers in doing so. John Brantley anyone?

Well Mullen did wonders making Franks stop turning the ball over in 2018 but I see your point. I think Jones has much more potential than Franks myself and it would just take him a few starts to play at a higher level than Franks. Just my opinion unless Franks surprises me this year. I think we are the only team that people admit we have a WR group second to just Bama in the SEC yet those same people will never say we are going to throw for many yards.

Looks like Dorian is trending a little more North than thought now and will miss PR. Hopefully that keeps up and it misses land altogether.
