Not a good look for Mike White...

A good over-view of the 2020 roster here:

Florida will also add one of the most talented 2020 prospects in signee Samson Ruzhentsev, who is a spot-up stretch four shooter who can help create space for guys like Appleby, Mann, Glover, Lewis and Johnson to drive to the rim. Shooting guard Niels Lane will also add another body to the backcourt to help shore things up.
iG -- Mike also got the #1 JuCo PF.

All in all, Florida now has a roster well-suited to do what White envisioned when he arrived from Louisiana Tech: Push the pace and dare opponents to keep up.

Glad to see Mann coming back and am looking forward to see what Mike White does with this revamped roster.

How does a team that already struggles offensively replace over five assists per game? With Florida starting point guard Andrew Nembhard transferring, this is the big question that coach Mike White and his staff must answer.

PG Andrew Nembhard So season - 11.2 Pts, 5.6 Ast, 2.6 TO's,1.1 Stl

PG Tyree Appleby So season - 17.2 Pts, 5.6 Ast, 74 made 3's at 38.9%.
Scored double figures 23 times, 20+ 11 times, and 30+ twice.
=====

Per the iG -- My answer is xfer PG Tyree Appleby. (xfer, scout team 2018-19)
He was named All Horizon League at Cleveland St as a Fr & Soph.
Scored 20+ Pts 14 times, posted one triple-double, 19 Pts, 11 Rebs 11 Ast. :eek:

Prep: Averaged 25.0 Pts, 5.0 Rbs, and 4.5 Asts as a HS senior, while earning the McDonalds Full Court Award.

He will of course have to win the PG job over Mann and Glover, but all 3 will play no matter who is named the PG starter.

Going Small and Fast, the early projected 2020 starters:

SG Noah Locke 6-3 - 43.2% 3's

PG Tre Mann 6-4 172 So

SF/CG Scottie Lewis 6-5 185 - FG 48%, 3's 36%, FT 81.7% + Blks & Stls

PF/SF Keyontae Johnson 6-5 - Team Leading 14 Pts & 7.1 Rbs per Gm

PF/C Omar Payne 6-10
=====

Plan-B and going Big-ish

PG Tyree Appleby 6-1 163 rsJr - Cleveland-St xfer, now available
PG Quez Glover 5-11 176 So - got better late, still developing

SF/PF Anthony Duruji 6-7 213 rsJr - LaTech xfer, now available

C Jason Jitoboh 6-11 300 So - losing weight, got better late, still developing

PF/C Colin Castleton 6-11 235 Jr - Mich xfer, needs waiver to play, unlikely imo

Three Very solid FNG's

PF Osayi Osifo 6-8 215 Jr - #1 Rated JuCo xfer - 10.6 Pts, 7.5 Rb's , FG 54%
CG Niels Lane 6-5 195 Fr **** - Slashing wing who can finish at all 3 levels.
SF Samson Ruzhentsev 6-7 210 Fr **** - Represented Russia in the FIBA U18 Euro Championships.

Two Top Quality Walk-Ons

SG Alex Klatsky 6-3 189 rsFr - S.Lewis teammate, Prep 4 Yr starter, 2 Yr Captain.
PG Jack May 6-4 180 Fr - 2020 FL 3A State Champ - FAU HC Dusty May's son
Both W-O's are good enough to be players in the rotations.

The 2020-21 starting roster and playing rotation should be fun to watch develop across the season.

The Gators' commitment to Academic Excellence continues
, as the team has earned at least 6 total SEC academic honors for 3 straight seasons. This also makes the 3rd straight year the Gators have had 3 or more players on the 1st-year list. The Gators have also earned 33 SEC academic honors over the past 5 seasons under HC Mike White. o_O
