When Bama was invited to the White House after the 2017 NC, Saban told the team that EVERYONE was going to DC because the President asked them to.

That showed leadership.

This is pandering to 5-star recruits that you don't want to see jump in the transfer portal if you don't go along with their demands.

I'm out. Some things are more important than football, and this is definitely one of them. Shame on Saban.

The players and Saban said they were marching for equality. The LAST thing Saban or any of those players want is equality. They are ALL treated like royalty. Every kid in that march will have a job anywhere in this state for the rest of his life, and it has nothing to do with the color of his skin and everything to do with the color of the jersey on his back.

If they get equality then they would be forced to work the same shit jobs that their adoring fans that gush over them have to do.

I was born and raised in Florida and live here now. I attended UK 61 to 65 and bought season tickets in basketball. I renewed them for 60 years. The first one was about $3.00 and now they cost me $5,000 per season and we are 12 rows from the floor. Prime seats. I only attend a few games each year because it is about 850 miles to Lexington.

I have a few family in Kentucky and they have used the tickets over the years. I told them I was out. Finished with UK sports and if they wanted them I would transfer them into their name. Not a single one wants them. They feel as I do. We also have 4 season football tickets and 30 years priority.

I am finished. Done. What got me was the video Calipari put out on a UK men's basketball twitter feed giving full support to BLM and showing how cops mistreated Michael Brown and others. He can do what he wants on his private twitter but that went out over a UK twitter feed. Big difference and UK basketball lost thousands of supporters.

Been here since the Billy Gillespie days.... I found this board to be more laid back with some good peeps. Most of those peeps aren’t around anymore, but it keeps on keeping on..... better than Rupps Raftards for sure

Met several Gators from here at the football tailgate at Gainesville in 08. I’m the only one from that time who still regularly posts on this board it seem

Over at the Oklahoma Sooner's Crimson Corner I am about to finish my vacation to Chile - a two-week vacation ban from posting because those snowflake mods and some other posters cannot handle anything associated with Covid, politics, anti-BLM. It wasn't but two weeks before then I got a one-week vacation for the same crap. Happy to be here. Fun spot to be in and happy you are posting here.

If coach Cal receives loads of UK shirts, jerseys, shorts ect, over his fence, do you think he will get it? Its the second house past Chinoe of Richmond Road.

Saban is such a dipshit, the only reason he cares about black communities is because the athletes that came from them have made him rich. This is nothing more than a recruiting tool.

I would love to find out. He is so dug in with the cause I doubt much will change his mind. He is ultra liberal and should move back to Pittsburg and go into politics.

I know the area well. My son and his family live about a mile from there close to the Chevy Chase area.

I see one of the Jacksonville players, Tyler Eifert, wants to put David Dorn, murdered police officer on his helmet. A salute to this young man and would hope more NFL players would want to do the same.

Now the question is will the NFL allow it?

I highly doubt it. Maybe if his wife hadn't shared her story during the RNC there'd be a chance, but Dorn's story is only going to hurt the message (at least until they can prove a White Nationalist militia member shot him).

Everyone (me included) dislikes the rioting, looting, arson, etc.

Everyone likes to throw the name MLK around. As in "MLK would not approve of the rioting."

Ok so some college kids and their coaches peacefully walk down the street...and y'all get mad about that?

What gives?

Y'all want peaceful type protests but then turn around and boycott the peaceful protests.

I'm not mad at the kids, I'm mad at the adults like Saban that aren't educating them on exactly what it is they are supporting. They are supporting the Black Lives Matter organization, likely without having the faintest idea what it is who is backing it, or what it is trying to accomplish.

Saban should have been a leader and told them what BLM is and what they want. The black community will be hit the hardest if we do what BLM wants us to do.

When I see these kids walking down a street carrying a flag with the BLM logo on it and Saban leading them, that's when I get pissed.

Now if these kids know what BLM is and they fully support it, then I'll be mad at them too. But I doubt that they do because I doubt anyone has told them.

I was mad when the liberal leftist at UF did away with the ROTC Rifle Team, (neutered).
I have already left the UF Alumni Association several years ago because UF has gone way to leftist.

IF UF has now come to the point of supporting the Anit-American BLM Organization, then I'm done with supporting UF in any way. The already paid for South endzone chairbacks are now likely on their last season. I doubt that anyone in the family will pick up the tab next season....

I believe it is more of Saban(and other adult coaches) are basically saying my black athletes and all black citizens lives matter. More as a statement vs the organization. I'm sure he knows his white and all race athletes and human lives matter but the white players don't feel as if they are in any danger of any police brutality.

I do wish their was a phrase that didn't match the organization. Life would be so much less complicated.

However this is as peaceful as anything can get. Kids and their coaches putting on a simple peaceful parade. A couple of videos and the like.
You guys like the many of us are sick of the violence and rioting. When something as simple as a parade, video, logo, or phrase on a jersey also makes you boycott a sporting event, you guys are continuing to ignore simple things and will miss out on watching a simple game you have grown up to love.

I haven't seen anyone say these kids don't have a right to protest and from what little I saw (I honestly wasnt looking for details), the Bama march looked completely peaceful.

But you can support their right to protest and still not support WHAT they are protesting in favor of. If the kids all marched down University wearing OAN shirts and red MAGA hats and said they were marching in favor of Trump, every lib saying now that the kids are heroes would be insulting the hell out of them.

Again, no one is upset about the players protesting, we are upset that they are apparently supporting a group that is RESPONSIBLE for most of the violence that they claim to be against.

I don't think the kids understand that, because I dont think they understand what BLM is and what it wants to accomplish. I wish an adult like Saban had stepped in to educate them, but he's scared of losing players just like Mullen is, Kirby is, and every other coach. Hell this all started weeks ago when Mike Gundy got caught wearing an OAN shirt and his RB said he was quitting. Gundy caved too.

As I've said before, it's the TOTAL FAILURE of the liberal leftist universities to EDUCATE their students on the issues and the Organizations, BLM & ANTIFA. They are domestic terrorist and should be treated as such.

Peaceful protester don't need to support BLM or ANTIFA to express themselves on any subject. 🤓

I get all of that, but I believe both Saban and the players are using it was a phrase (basically saying people of our race matter as well) and not contributing to the organization.

On the other subject that Ok State RB was a bitch crying about a news T-shirt. Basically crying over his coaches right to freedom of the press.

I thought Stoops was in the forefront of this. Even Matt Jones said UK would benefit for doing it. We will see. Like I said before ,BYEBYE season tickets and K fund. We will see who was right. The liberal talk show or just little ole me.
 
Same here brother. My garden and canning is done. This is the time of year I looked so forward to. Set my hunting season around UK games. Its very disappointing but at the same time a relief. I can hunt and not have to worry being on time to Commonweath or antything else.
