Things that make you say Hmmmmm 🤔

Not that it could be any real indications of the present repeating the past I just thought it was interesting.
1. Guess what day the spring game was on when Billy Napier coached the Cagins? Yep you got it Thursday.
2. Do you think it was a high scoring shootout or a defensive show with little to no offense. Yep you got it low scoring.
3. You wonder how the game ended? Yep on a last second field goal.
4. You couldn’t draw it up much better the way it ended. Billy Napier said!!!!

That team went on to win a conference championship. Now I’m not at all suggesting the same but the man is extremely set in how he does things and this just shows. A veteran quarterback didn’t light it up or run up and down the field due to who was dictating the game. BN

Last Thursday’s Vermilion & White Game. April 23, 2021
If facing pressure situations and handling them well was what he wanted out of UL's spring game, coach Billy Napier got it.

Chandler Fields completed a 43-yard touchdown pass to Jacob Bernard with 27 seconds left to pull the White team to within one, then followed with a two-point conversion throw to tight end Pearse Migl for the lead.

But Levi Lewis drove the Vermilion in position for a 51-yard game-winning field goal from Kenneth Almendares, who had missed from 45 earlier. Almendares nailed it as time expired in the 13-11 win Thursday night at Cajun Field.

“You couldn't draw it up much better,” Napier said of the way it ended.

But Lewis is back for his third season as a starter and leading 2020 tacklers Lorenzo McCaskill and Ferrod Gardner, who were both injured and out Thursday, return too.
Some takeaways from Thursday:

I believe wholeheartedly Billy looked at the Orange and Blue game as a scrimmage and practice that’s it. He was being his father hard nosed coach just trying to make his team better. No frills No fake running the score up for the fans. Just making his team better. And that meant letting his new defensive coordinator get his juices going get a feel for his squad bang some heads. There may be a lot more to this team than meets the eye. It’s just more evidence the game meant nothing in the grand scheme. And it just proves once again he’s going to do it his way.
