They did sue Powell (for $1.3B), she hired Wood and their message was "bring it". To date it hasn't been brought, so it looks like Dominion has backed down...but we will see.

Her case against them is still pending a trial date, it hasn't been withdrawn.

And this case is different - the NewsMax model is very poorly monetized. Unlike how RightSide operates they provide everything for free and rely on ad revenue. There's no way they could afford to defend themselves if Dominion really came after them.

You think news organizations back down every time they get sued? Nope. Not if they’ve done nothing wrong. In fact, they confirmed they have no independent verification of that lie. That’s why they backed down. Reputable news organizations don’t report things without verifying them first.

They apologized and stopped reporting the lie, as they should. I’ve gained some respect for them.

If they aren’t man enough to report a story that they can support, they don’t belong in the business. I repeat, they said they haven’t verified the story. That’s why they pulled it. Try to get that through your thick skull.

OAN did not back down.

Seems like NewsMax might just want to avoid the legal fees...no?
