Mullen is 26-6 in his first 32 games. Exact same record as Meyer & Mullen through their first 32 games.

Norvell in his first year already has 6 losses in 8 games.

I look back when Mullen was interviewed for the Canes HC job, but ultimately chose Mark Richt after the 2015 season. It's also a relief how Dan Mullen actually waited for Stricklin to offer the UF job rather than going to the Vols.

Wouldn't matter if the Noles had Nick Saban the program is an absolute disaster with no vision for the future.
Agree and disagree. If they had a top coach it could be turned fairly quickly in the ACC. Look how quickly Meyer, Saban and even Mullen turned around their programs.
Norvell has never had to do this before and likely is treading water and in over his head. They are actually worse this year than last year. Not even sure how that is possible.
But you are right about their admin

Its not an apples to apples comparison tho. Not even close

Meyer, Saban and Mullen had programs with big money. fsu does not have this. Once the arms race started, fsu was destined to fall behind.
Go read the ESPN article that Theo posted. It is very telling.

I agree but in all honestly despite all of that how many teams in the ACC actually have more talent on paper than FSU does? Clemson and Miami?

If you are looking at stars in magazines, perhaps. But in reality? They are below UNC, NC State, VTech. Mack Brown can recruit, so I suspect that UNC will leave them in the dust soon. fsu has serious financial challenges that aren't going to change anytime soon. They are losing the arms race.T hey need to be good to generate revenue to catch up in the arms race and they can't get good without first having revenue.

Yes stars in recruiting and talent on paper. The only 2 programs that definitely have more talent is Clemson and Miami. I do not think NC State, VT, etc have more talent. VT is 4-4 and lost too Liberty and NC State is 5-3. Not exactly teams loaded with talent.

Ouch! It looks like it's getting much worse.

I thought it was way before 2015 and it was when Miami chose Al Golden?

@PacoGator19 wasn't it Golden chosen over Mullen?

If I remember correctly, Mullen may have been interviewed around the 2010 or 2011 season as well.
Egg is on their face for turning him down twice of true for Golden and Kirby Senior.

Without looking it up, where is Al Golden these days? He disappeared after his lack lusterness.

I have no idea. He’s not a head coach anywhere.

Y'all made me look it up. Golden now coaches the linebackers for the Bengals. Seems like Jeremy Fooley screwed up twice when he passed on Dan Mullen by bringing in MusChimp and Butters.

Foley was great running all the other programs. He never hit a 3B less long a HR with his football hires. He was basically forced to hire Urb. He then shied away from all things related to Urb after that. Foley's HOF highlights should not include football.
