FWIW White got to the Elite 8 in his 2nd season and really hasn’t done anything since. Has never come close to winning an SEC title or an SEC tourney title. MW got to the Elite 8 with somebody else’s players and hasn’t come close yet to duplicating the success of that season he had.

And that's been the issue. The program was stuck in neutral. Consistently inconsistent play with teams that ended up on the bubble watch and not in real contention for a conference championship. You want to see progress and movement of the program towards getting better. That wasn't happening and I think Mike White knew that as well as anyone. Good for him for making a move on his own. Just hope the AD can find the right guy to replace him.

As a big Grizzlies fan, do you think he identified and developed Ja or do you think he got lucky with a diamond in the rough? Asking, not debating at all. I do say MSU is legit. I don't follow them real hard but has he developed any other players that made it to the NBA? Of course I know they aren't the All Star caliber of Morant.
