Mike Leach

A poster last week pointed out that defenses catch up with the Air Raid offense eventually.

Sam Pittman & Arkansas didn't wait for eventually !

Feleipe Franks threw two touchdown passes and Arkansas intercepted K.J. Costello three times as the Razorbacks broke a 20-game SEC losing streak by upsetting No. 16 Mississippi State 21-14 on Saturday night.

Costello and the Air Raid shredded LSU for a Southeastern Conference record 623 yards passing, but the Bulldogs turned the ball over on downs in the red zone twice in the fourth quarter and also lost a fumble against Arkansas. They were 6-of-17 on third down.

Another viewpoint -
"Razorback quarterback Feliepe Franks was rock solid all game. He completed nearly 70% of his passes, didn’t turn the ball over, and was smart with the football.

Defensively, Arkansas was fantastic in the open field tackling, not letting Mississippi St. pass catchers to pick up much after the catch."

Leach is a good coach but not a great coach or somebody I would want at UF. It has been his MO throughout his entire coaching career. He will win some big games but he will lose some real stinkers as well. Too inconsistent.

I like Leach’s style. I think it would have been interesting to see him in a program that wasn’t a bottom feeder or at least at a program that had a strong foundation. I was relieved Miami was too stupid to hire him (as well as Mullen) because he could have been dangerous with that talent pool down there. When he almost went to Tennessee I was looking forward to seeing that play out. Tennessee can pull in talent and has a lot of advantages. I don’t think we’ll ever know what he would have done at a powerhouse but regardless his teams are fun to watch.

When it becomes to being too stupid to hire a coach, and I'm gonna get hammered for this, and I've mentioned this many times, that Jeremy Foley should/could have hired Dan Mullen in 2014 after he canned Will Muschamp. Just imagine Will Grier and the defense Mullen would have inherited for the 2015 season.
As for Tennessee, I'm still puzzled as to why they, or Full Philmer, yes, Full, told Leach to p!ss off. Won't be long before Leach starts entertaining the masses off the field again as well.

At least you’re in a better late than never category with Mullen. Your OL was pretty terrible in ‘15 from what I remember but obviously Mullen would have done way better than Shark Humper. Likely not had Grier taking banned substances too.

Fulmer got his job by stealing it from a legend, undermining is second nature to him. As AD he wanted all the glory so anyone interviewed by the previous AD was a nonstarter. So Phil went the trendy former Saban coordinator route. Basically what all the schools were doing throughout the 80s and early 90s. Find former Bear Bryant assistants and players and give them head coaching jobs hoping some of the Bear’s pixie dust rubbed off on them.
