Unless I'm mistaken, we got more yards rushing on that final TD play, than the entire rest of the game combined.

All things considered, if we don't fix the running game, it doesn't matter who we have at QB or WR or whatever position, we won't live long in the SEC this year.

grommit,

Strongly agree !

"...The run game did eventually have a breakthrough when Florida was up late in the fourth quarter: a 76-yard run by wide receiver Josh Hammond on a reverse. Take away that? Florida has just 62 yards on 26 carries, another inefficient performance. "

Don't know how this will impact our run game, but I
Thought I heard Mick & Lee discussing this last night -

Richard Gouraige – RsFr taking over at LT

Stone Forsythe – RsJr - taking over at RT

The last depth chart I saw only listed two names at LT - Gouraige & Forsyth; don't know who else will move there.

I don't even know if this is a long term answer from Hevesy or just something short term because of our inability to run the ball against UK's DL.

Hoping answers will come forth over this week's practice for Tennessee.

Gouraige was a turnstile pass blocking in the Spring game - not sure if he is ready as of now.

Fever,

You could be right !

Change in personnel in OL was in effect for too short a time to tell. Could just have been Hevesy expressing his frustration with poor run blocking.

This week's practice & Saturday's game with Vols will tell us if Gouraige has what it takes to get the job done.

Delance got benched at RT and Gouraige came in at LT and Forsythe went to RT but Delance was back in at the end of the game I’m pretty sure.

Paco,

Thanks for info !

Wasn't aware of that; perhaps the change in tackles was just a non-subtle way for Hevesy to get Delance's attention. IDK

This week's practice & game with Vols will tell us.

Is Delance still injured? His leg is taped up pretty heavily. I remember all the talk about him being the most athletic lineman. And they’ve been pretty good pass blocking but damn if he doesn’t rack up penalties every game. Holding, false starts, the whole nine. The inexperience is showing.

Interesting and curious to see what is done going forward. I just cant get it out of my head how bad Gouraige got owned at LT in the spring game.

Why? It's a spring game and the units are mismatched with guys playing out of position and with different units. Plus going up against our ends who are really good. He's a redshirt freshman he's gonna keep learning and growing.

Forsythe is slow and clumsy imo.
And he's a weak inefficient down field blocker.

Delance is currently playing like a backup, at best.

Just my own hopeful speculations, nothing more:
(2020 recruits should see some real opportunities here)

LT Gouraige 6-4 298 - Michael Tarquin 6-5 279

LG Heggie 6-4 330 - White 6-5 370

OC Buchanan 6-3 287 - Rowell 6-2 283

RG Bierch 6-6 330 - Moore 6-5 305

RT Forsythe 6-7 329 - Delance 6-4 314

Come on Hevesy, COACH EM UP! o_O
