Multiple Miami AD candidates told @ActionNetworkHQ UM’s search is a “mess.” With more than 50 board of trustees & several donors involved “everyone is in charge, no one is in charge. They don’t know what they want to do w/Manny (Diaz). Half want him gone, half want him to stay"

Unless Cristobal is just playing hardball in negotiations, I still think Lane will be Miami’s next HC.

Lane wants the job. It's impossible to keep Manny as HC after humiliating him. If they can't get Cristobal, I think Lane ends up in Coral Gables. He belongs there.

Does he really want the Miami job?

Hope you are right. Don’t need Mario down there
I personally don’t care one way or another. I don’t think Mario is a good coach. Although Diaz is probably worse. I’d actually be more concerned if Miami got Kiffin.

Since
Head to head with Miami is minimal I am not worried about coaching.

But Mario is an above elite receuiter, would rather not deal with that.

That said, Mario at UM and Napier at Florida may be the end of F$U.

Anything that keeps FSU sucking balls is all good with me. 4 straight losing seasons, this is awesome!

I just looked at a picture on FB of my brother and I at the Swamp in '13...it was freezing that day and FSU beat the dog crap out of us. I remember thinking that I couldn't wait for them to suck but they were on a roll and won it all that year. Now almost a decade later and I've been loving the past few years seeing them in total disarray...their fans are no where to be found or crying the blues. Wish I could find the picture of my friend from High School...threw his FSU spear through his TV after they lost to Jacksonville State lmfao #conquered

What may have played most to his decision is his mother's(who lives in Miami) health, which he says is day to day.

So....he's going to go to take the Miami job because his mom is about to die?

Weird way to make a career move.

Lincoln Riley to USC could be a factor as well?

Well let me say this then.

Miami can't and won't spend the money needed at that small private school.

Cristobal currently gets that Nike money and is still struggling in games he shouldn't.

I don't see Miami working out for him because I don't think he's special enough to overcome the problems that school has.

My god they've been botching an AD search.
That's pretty hard to do.

I don’t think he will be a huge success. I think he is a terrible coach. For the three years he is there he may recruit So Fla well….lol

But outside that, yes he and the university are not poised for anything special

You can probably roll his mother's health issues into the same emotional bucket as the fact that he is from Miami, his family is there, his wife wants to move back, it's his alma mater, and he played for them when they won a couple of national championships.

I just wonder how Miami is going to pay him. Supposedly, Oregon is offering him up to $8 million per year to stay in Eugene. Some South American dictator or cartel boss is going to have to offload a couple of his shell corporation-owned condos in Coconut Grove to outbid Nike.

It's bananas that guys like Cristobal and Kiffin are getting this kind of salary.

Kiffin has Ole Piss in a NY6 and they probably extended to try and ensure they land Arch

I forgot about Manning. Now it makes more sense.

Yeah it does seem that Arch is going to be Kiffin's. At one point I know the thought was TAMU or Bama (that was during my time in Née Orleans so obviously a lot can change) but it seems now that it's probably going to happen barring something odd.

I also know that was "weak" interest in Arch coming to Florida. Just saying it was out there, never read anything into that outside of it being an option (keep in mind, a year ago it seemed Dan had us escalating).

I will be curious to see if there is Arch Manning interest with Napier here. Obviously ridiculous because....I mean....it's Florida....but you never know.

I can’t see Archie, Peyton or Eli wanting him at UF.

Also with a huge QB pedigree in the family, I am not sure they would love the idea of Napier being HC/OC/QB coach. But I don’t know that

Lol.

So in a matter of hours we've already graduated from being unsure but hopeful to Napier not only potentially having us in the running for Manning but also may help drive the final nail in SOW's coffin (who, despite having a shit tier start to the season, began showing life & is still primed for a probable top 10 class)?

I mean I get it. We're all thirsty & stoked for new blood but good lord man..
