At about the 14 minute mark Mac brings up death threats and then he avoids the law enforcement aspect. I personally think he is using this mess hoping the fans will back off him some. Law enforcement can trace down people's IP addresses etc. if that really happened.

Mac seems to love bringing up the human element and the poor me card when things go wrong. He should have never even put that out there especially if nothing is even getting reported to law enforcement. It makes you wonder about the accuracy in the first place.

On the Mc death threat comments, and on the Fev comments about it,,,, zzzzzzzzzz

It was a joke for Mac to bring that up in the first place if he isn't following up with law enforcement. It makes it appear to be a "poor me" card he is playing. He should have never even brought it up if it happens to actually be true and he isn't doing anything about it.

You've got to be f'in kidding me. What a pussy. You don't want the mean tweets, rip up your contract and don't take the $27m you're owed. Go back to some middling crap program where nobody cares about your incompetence.

Nobody should be threatening violence obviously, but there's always a few wingnuts on Twitter. If it's a serious threat, then it should go to police and whatever nut is making it should be prosecuted. But more likely this is just the same sadsack, poor-me crap. I've had it with this yokel. Guarantee this ends up on ESPN. Gator fans end up looking like nutjobs, because Mac's feelings got hurt by people pointing out his obvious incompetence.

I agree 100%. I hope it means he is trying to find a way to avoid being here next season also.

Don't watch it then x2 - your problem solved.

Nope, I didn't bother to watch it, because it would be boring, just like sniveling about it is,,, imoho.

Now that I've had my say on the subject, I'll follow your good suggestion and leave this thread for the whiners to have their sniveling party about it. So good day mate...

@bradleygator you hit the nail on the head, that's all it is. It's ironic that the guy who talks about blocking out the noise is all of a sudden paying attention to the noise. Trying to get public sentiment on his side about all the mean tweets he receives to distract away from his incompetence. Soft.

Mac is such a female. Woe is me woe is me. Always talks about not making excuses only to make an excuse in the very next sentence. Between bs like this and him crying after games he's really unbearable. The definition of soft.

So passive aggressive. "It's just tough when you have threats against the players and your family." Total crap!

Mac is just not very good at press conferences. He says stuff that just boggles your mind. Like a poster-child for stuff you shouldn’t say. He actually looks and sounds like a beaten man...it is very sad and a far cry from the guy who took the job initially.

That being said, and however you feel about Mac, the one thing that everyone should be in uniform agreement about is that if our coaches are actually receiving death threats it is despicable and should not be treated lightly or flippantly by anyone.

LMAO. The guy is a walking excuse machine. Look NOBODY thinks death threats if he's getting them is ok. But that ain't the reason your team is trash, spare me.

Anyone who has any kind of Twitter presence is going to get some tweets that are: threatening, abusive, racist, sexist, etc... etc... There are inummerable crazies running around and Twitter gives a public voice to every one of them. If the "threats" Mac is talking about are something different/more credible, then absolutely they should be dealt with by the proper authorities. I'd be interested to know if Mac reported these "threats against his family" to the police, and I hope someone makes him answer the question.

Stop watching. It's not as hard as I'd thought it would be. I can't do it. Can't even enjoy wins because it just means this bum will be around longer. But of course I can't root against UF either. So it just makes the games unbearable not even taking into account the garbage product on the field.

Worst Gator coach in my lifetime. Yes, worse than Will Muschamp.

And hell, imagine how bad this will get if UGa beats the shit out of us. Them how much worse after that if he loses to Chump? Scary to think we are FAR from seeing the worst of this. At no point under CWM did I feel like the program was such a f’n mess. The on field product sucked, but at this point there is literally NOTHING right about the program as a whole. We need to dump this guy just to stop the bleeeding

I love how immediately after he brings it up he drops a "but that's what we signed up for." Then when reporters press him for more details he tells them to drop it. So WTF did you bring it up then other than as a distraction or to look for sympathy if you don't wanna talk about it? So corny and fake.

All of the joy has been completely sucked out of Gator Football...

Where do we possibly go from this point?

It wouldn't shock me if we look back at this as the beginning of the end for Mac. I hope a reporter really presses him on what the threat was exactly and why he hasn't went to the cops with it. I think its more him exaggerating things some because the pressure is getting to him and he probably doesn't want to be here any longer. Still hoping for an Oregon State miracle.

This could set up nicely for him to have an excuse to leave the program.

“I didn’t feel good about the safety, well being and mental health of my family” sounds a lot better than “I don’t belong here and the stress level here is to much for me.”

It’s a double edged sword.

We always debate about how it looks to other coaches when you fire a coach after a few years, but here’s a new one: who wants to take a job where the fan base is so awful they threaten to Murder everyone involved in the program.

Thanks Mac. You’re a neat guy.

I also like how he includes his family in the group who "knew what they were signing up for." I can picture him at one of their home cooked hot dog dinner nights, telling his kids: Now I have received threats against you, and that's not neat or cool, and yet you knew what you were getting into being born into this family... You're not throwing away the rest of that hot dog are you? Hand it over here.

That's why the comment was so irresponsible. We'd all agree that if he received death threats it's uncalled for but now he has the entire fan base looking crazy with national stories coming out. And for threats that were apparently so bad he didn't even bother to contact the police. Why not do that and keep the matter private? He just randomly threw that out there to a question about performance of the team and then when pressed for more suddenly decides he doesn't wanna talk about it. Ok cool then why mention it to begin with other than to buy yourself sympathy?

I took my 15 year old child to a game to support and cheer on a team that I have very little reason to believe in...and now I am tainted by a generalized comment about death threats from an unstable fan base.

Seriously...this is like the worst season ever...

sadgator never thought it would be as bad as Muschamp, but we’ve hit a new rock bottom low on this one...

And yet, it’s not very cool.

And he'll have the built-in excuse if recruiting collapses too. "How can we convince players to come here when our staff and players are receiving death threats?" The more I think about his comment the more pissed off I get, so irresponsible. All so he could get sympathy points. He gave that answer to a question about the team's performance, think about that. His answer, as per usual, had nothing to do with nothing.

I’m sure if Mac was to get canned he could easily get a job with Parkay or Margarine… With as much butta’ He has on those teef I’m surprised he hasn’t put one of those companies outta’ business by now…

So he won't give additional details to the university either? More convinced now this is just #fakenews. Pathetic. If this really happened and he won't provide details to the university then he's putting his players safety at risk. But of course it ain't about that, he was just looking for sympathy.

He may not be able to recover from this claim if it turns out to only be a sympathy play. The media will make him regret making such an accusation if he doesn’t elaborate further.

The administration knows how quickly this can fester and they’re likely going to press Mac for mor details. Simply for the liability and litigious concerns, not to mention the fact that the GPD may want a statement from Mac or his assistants. UH-OH!

Sounds like Gardner is the one talking to me. Fromm throws for two scores over his head and he'll be looking at Chubb, Sony and Swifts taillights all afternoon long.

Yep the national press will determine if this becomes a real big issue.

This is quickly making the Champ era look like the Spurrier days. This thing is so over its not even funny
