I knew a girl now women that lost her mother and had to use toilet paper because she was too embarrassed to tell her dad and her dad refused to learn about it to help her. That was the worse time in her youth. Opportunities and education like that would've gave her a better childhood.
Social media took it to a levels it's at now, which is mainstream. Enemy talk was always more fringe, now its more normal. Especially on the right. The right really started an "own the libs" platform and everything they do is about owning them.

However, we've seen this sort of thing ebb and flow for well over 200 years. It's an adversarial system by design and it often gets out of hand.

I think the left made a mistake by by painting run of the mill establishment figures like Mitt Romney as racist and sexist and so forth. They did it to Bush and the rest of the RINOs. This was a mistake. Those people were willing to be the controlled oppostion. But you start to call a dude like Romney all these things, and then he doesnt even really fight back against it. It changed the BASE. The BASE is no longer willing to coexist with the left wing lunatics. I think the left thinks that the base may slide back into establishment patterns....but I think the base is out for TOTAL victory
