What do you mean “buy into the notion?” People treat each other differently based on the color of their skin. Do you disagree that this is a historical fact?
When you say politics isn’t meant to be inclusive, I disagree. Candidates and their financiers have figured out that its in their own interest to divide the electorate as opposed to governing for the collective good. Basically, in a two party system, the fringe crazies are the easiest to motivate, so it’s easier to just toss them a bunch of crazy conspiracy theories and easy answers that help them rationalize their own failures in life, so that is the model that persists on both sides.
The left points to racism. The right now points to minorities and immigrants. Failing crazies on both sides embrace the excuses and off we go.
IMO, since candidates and their financiers have figured it out it's in their own interest to divide the electorate as opposed to governing for the collective good negates any possibility for inclusion since, IMO, you cannot have inclusion while dividing the electorate at the same time...inclusion and division are polar opposites...nor do they have the same starting point nor will they end up at the same destination.
People, IMO, have never treated each other equally due to differences in skin color, economic standing, religious-spiritual beliefs, political outlook/beliefs, etc.
It's just easier for myself to know understand that as a white, hetero male...that it's my fault for every ill known to mankind simply by virtue of my whiteness-hetero traits...I've heard that many times via the media and face-to-face conversations...all the while in these face-to-face conversations I'm told how "inclusive" the democrats are.
People have been trained via herd mentalities and by many other venues to where inclusion is a dream, a wish, an unrealistic hope that will never occur...as the Bible points out...there will always be poor people...there will be wealthy people...and away from any Biblical teachings...there will always be leaders and there will be followers...and as long as there are corporations, governments, taxation, militaries (and wars), famines, sicknesses, plagues, fighting for resources, financial disparities...the notion of inclusion and equality should go the way of the dodo bird...extinct.
The potential for fighting, for argument, for conflict, for pointing out differences, for control over others, for setting the pace and making the rules is ever present...worrying over inclusion and acceptance from everyone and anyone is simply a huge waste of time, effort, and energy.
And one last point: if black lives (or any other lives) truly matters...look at how blacks, whites, hispanics, or any other race progresses but also ****how they treat each other.****
All races and their individual members are always on the prowl for anything and everything to raise their conditions...but do they actually want the same for their entire race...or do they simply say they do...but their actions say otherwise?
I believe we all know the answer.
