Latest poll

I'm rarely impressed by anything that the nations media-morons do, the least of which is their overly biased polls. Board fodder is all they have left, now that there's a Playoff Committee to decide the final four.

AP 26 -- Coaches 25

I wouldn't have voted us in the top-25 either after having been in a dogfight with the worst team in Division 1 football up until the 4th Quarter.

Polls are meaningless until week 5.

Not really.

The idea is to have a starting point. If we don't even have a starting point what are rankings in week 5 going to be based off of? There would be even more guesswork than there is now. Right now teams start of the season based on things like how they finished the year before, returning starters, schedule, possible impact recruits, etc. It isn't perfect but at least it's logical. If we don't have a poll until week 5 the things people complain about (mostly subjectivity) gets worse.

Having an actual Playoff Committee, that doesn't use the media-moron poll, makes the polls of little value, except as msg-brd fodder.

Great point. Agree 100%

We can have them, but they are meaningless until teams have a body of work. It does give bubbleheads something to talk about...as was the mantra with the stupid BCS.

Polls matter to fans when their team is #1...not so much when their team is #26. The playoff system still shows bias to the Power 5 regardless the ranking.

Win your conference and you're still gonna leap frog a mid-major who's ranked in the top 10. Unless said mid-major threatens to sue their asses and then they'll probably sneak in. ijs

You know, it's a shame that John Saunders has passed away.

He was the worst BCS whore of anyone in the business. His company line mantra bullcrap is a big reason that I stopped watching all ESPN commentary. There is no way on earth the BCS was better than a playoff, but JOHN swore that it was.

You can piss down my back, but don't tell me it's raining....just level with me that you are pissing down my back.

An August poll means DICK.

Texas, WISCONSIN, and MICHIGAN STATE WERE NOT RANKED....now they are all Top 12.

Houston was obviously UNDERRANKED.....LSU was OVERRANKED.

Again, the poll was UTTER BULLSPIT.

Mich St was ranked...I don't think Texas and Wisconsin should be ranked that high, top 25 sure but not top 11. There are some movements that kinda makes you scratch your head, but all of it really means nothing until later on in the season when everything works itself out.

No matter what the polls show, what's left of the Big12/10/?? still stinks on ice.

First, 2nd tier #15 Houston stomps on always over-rated #3 choke-la-homa.

Second, OKSt goes down to freakin' 2nd tier Cen.Mich.

Third, #15 TCU get's put away by unranked SEC Ar-kansas. :D

What's the media-moron college football world coming to?

But hey, at least former Gator DC, Charlie Strong, took unranked Tx and beat up on the always media-moron over-rated, nuttless of neutered lame....

Playoff Committee = Media-Moron Polls Now Irrelevant

I thought that the Gators were better than the media-morons ranked them in the preseason, and after week 1, and now. Moe-rons for long standing reasons... o_O

Their polls are fodder, and have been for years. Flipping a coin will give you results that are just as good as their excuse for considered thinking imo.

It's fine to talk about what their polls are, but I just can't force myself to give them any credence what-so-ever.

And now with a 'pc' I don't have to.... ;)
