Kentucky

Ivey, Neal and VHIII should all be back. Anzalone is going to be out for awhile.

I still think UF wins unfortunately. I would like to just get the streak over with because it is so much added pressure to break every year.

What scares me is UF's rush defense. UK relies on Boom to move the ball and I'm just not sure he's gonna be able to.

I keep hearing that UF's pass defense is a little more suspect, but Towles has been so inconsistent that I hate to put the whole game on his shoulders.

On UK's defense, I'm not really sure what to expect. UK did good against USC. And Spurrier is obviously an offensive genius but they have struggled the last 2 years. ULL is exactly what they should be, a Sun Belt team. And they gashed UK in the 2nd half.

And as a poster eluded to earlier, UK hasn't been able to pressure the QB unless there is a blitz. So this may be UF's best offensive line performance of the season.

Also, I was lead to believe that UF's offense was weak this year but it seems like they have put up a ton of points. So I'm not sure UK has the offensive gun power (due to Floridas dline) to keep up.

So I'm gonna say UF by 4...

I still think the offense is a weak point for us right now. We didn't look that great on offense against ECU.

Should be a awesome game. My dad (Kentuckian) met my mother (Floridian) December 1986. Me and my father have yet to see a Wildcat Victory over the Gators since then and this game has been a family reunion punchline for the entirety of my life. Easily the best chance of a victory (pregame) since the streak started.

Cheers!

Sucks going into a UK game not knowing if you're gonna win or not. Been a while since I felt that way. A loooooong while.

I think we lose by 2 TDs in Lexington, maybe more :(. Still don't know who our QB is after an entire spring and fall camp +2 games, no identity on offense, suspect defense, undisciplined still, and playing a team that's gonna have the intensity cranked to 11.

It's gonna be bad Saturday

If UK beats us by two TDS then we would have had to played worse than any of the games from the last staff and have like two gift turnovers for TD's for them. I'd literally bet anything in the world to get UF +14 in that game

Stand by for some excuses, sorry bout-that....

The SWAMP earned it's name last week with a deluge all afternoon before that game. The field looked like I'd been golfing on it for a week, with divots everywhere. A disker behind a tractor wouldn't have chewed it up much more, so the footing was terrible. While that affects both teams, it hurts the defense (O knows where it's going) more, and the defense is supposed to be UF's strength. We'll see at UK, but I'm praying for a dry field. o_O

SS Maye, FS Neal, and DE McAlister missed the 1st game.
FS Neal and CB VH-3 ***** missed the 2nd game.
MLB Anzalone ***** will likely miss the 3rd game.
OT Ivey ***** has yet to play due to cleaning up a HS injury.
---------------
Now, unlike most, I'm fine with both playing at QB and I don't see that as being necessarily a weakness, but a strength. They have to prepare for both of them which dilutes their defense at least a little. Also, if one goes down, (gawd-forbid) the other has plenty of game experience.
Now, if one of the lights it up and they keep him (whichever) in the game, I'm also good with that. Whatever works best. ;)

Another thing is that this week, we just might start to see a bit more of the Mc-Nuss offense. That book opens a little more each week.

The whole team would have to catch Ebola for that to happen.

sadgator is just sayin' the past doesn't have much to do with Saturday night. We have no idea how good or bad we are, and UK is sky high right now. It is going to be a tough environment for a young team trying to find itself and anything is possible.

@TOS: Mac confirms that Vernon Hargreaves is a go this week. Mac says that VH3 has been knocking on his door all week to get back on offense.

Not saying it is going to happen, but it is amusing to sadgator that some of us honestly feel that UK is simply incapable of blowing us out.
I think that blowing us out is overstating things a bit...they certainly can beat us...but it's not a given at all. We don't know what to expect out of this Gator team but if we play a good game then we win. It's like most games...whoever doesn't make a bunch of mistakes or wins the turnover battle will probably win the game.

That's true but that was last week...in fact that could hurt them. Look at us from week 1 to week 2...the way that we played, for the most part, didn't have a lot to do with ECU..we made a ton of stupid penalties...tons of mental errors...the errors that we made with the flags almost had nothing to do with ECU...our team prepared like crap and wasn't focused and the first game we were dialed in. If we come into this game like we did the first week then we will win.

Good luck guys..... Might be our best chance on paper in 20 years... But then "paper" don't count. Only between the tackles does it matter

I'll be there, drinking heavy - and I'll toast one to all my Gator buds here and formally here - I love this time of year :D

Wow, thanks SG - those are mad props!

Yeah, I'll try to stay hydrated.... Will be a hella long day for me - I'll start tailgating in about 3 hours or so and will hang for 13-14 hours .... Maybe longer if the ball bounces the right way :D

It wouldn't shock me if KY wins. I think this will be a close game unless turnovers get out of hand for one of the teams.

Should we be expecting the goal posts to come down tonight if UK wins?

I think so...

"Obviously, no one wants to end that streak, but I think we're just focusing on the game,'' Thurman said. "I could care less if we have a 28-game win streak. We lost to Vanderbilt at homecoming two years ago.

"It's one of those games that you just don't roll your hat out there and expect to win. It's about us. It's about what we need to do."

The Gators have not lost their SEC opener since 2004, another streak they want to keep intact -- a much more important streak in the eyes of linebacker Jarrad Davis.

"The stakes get higher. This is definitely going to be a challenge, especially going into their place,'' Davis said. "We can't really mess around this week. Every one of these games is going to count to get us to where we want to be. We want to be in Atlanta. We want to be in the playoffs at the end of the season."

If you were to come back from the future, say tomorrow, and told all of us that one of the teams got blown out in tonight's game. I would have NO PROBLEM putting money on us running them out of their own stadium. I'd go so far as to say if it's a blowout, 999 out of 1000, it's Florida blowing out UK.

We're not as bad as we were last year when they took us to triple overtime, and they haven't improved one bit over last year. We had a rough game last week by a tough opponent, and they beat a pathetic USC team that lost it's starting QB. That USC team was so pathetic it actually got beat at home by UT last year. Last week's games for the both of us were probably not watched by anyone outside of the fanbases for the respective schools, all people saw was the final scores and read about UF having trouble and UK finally beating another SEC team.

Looks like the entire starting UF secondary will be playing for the first time this year.
