There are 2 themes you will hear repeatedly in the media:

1 - This is mostly low-level employees at the FBI and DOJ

2 - This does NOT reflect a systemic issue at the FBI or other intelligence agencies


Also note, Comey told Chris Wallace that he had almost no idea what was going on in the Trump investigation. "That was 7 levels below me".

Fact:; Lisa Page texted her lover reminding him that obama wanted to know everything they were doing. Does anyone think obama wanted to know what they were up to, but Comey didnt??

This is all about the media giving cover to the heads of these intelligence agencies; Comey, Clapper and Brennan.

Comey was saying things that would be true in almost all other contexts.

I think of the case where the Haslam family (Boosters at UT) who own the Cleveland Browns and a chain of truck stops/gas stations, had a scheme where they were defrauding trucking companies with a rebate scheme.

One Haslam was a Governor of TN.

That is a high profile FBI investigation and raid. It was several levels below Comey, he would be briefed on things and issue directives, but not be into the day to day details.

But when the FBI is on a President, you better believe the director wants to know every step of the way what is happening.

Most FBI investigations, however, get zero attention from the director.
